The first step to learning how to regulate your nervous system, is to have knowledge of the different nervous system states.

These states dictate how you are able to respond to stressors, relate to others, as well as how your body reacts.

It also helps you to identify what exercise will bring you back into regulation more easily and effectively.

Hurt people hurt people.

When I accepted this as TRUTH, and stopped trying to find a way around it,(maybe if I just did x,y,z) I began to see all the ways that I had owned other’s behaviors as an indication of my own worth.

💥People are only capable of showing up for others in the capacity they show up for themselves. 💥

About Me

I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from Eastern Illinois University in 2010. Through internships, education, and work experience, I have over ten years’experience working in therapeutic settings, including hospitals, boarding schools, and community mental health. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), and also hold a National Certified Counselor (NCC) credential.

Using a holistic, strength-based approach, my role as a therapist is to collaborate with, and guide my clients in an effort to empower them to take responsibility for their lives. Areas of strength include, but are not limited to, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, childhood developmental disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, & anxiety & depression management. I have experience working with dual-diagnosis clients, PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, & bipolar and personality disorders.
