Congratulations to Sarah Faux, our November Employee of the Month!

"Sarah takes every opportunity to brighten someone's day. I have witnessed her go out of her way to help visitors to the cafeteria. She takes a minute to check in with them inquiring about their day, offering to help them with their tray and guiding them to the routine and flow of the cafeteria.

About 3 weeks ago when an older lady in line approached Sarah to pay for her dinner, Sarah kindly inquired how she was doing and holding up. It was evident that the lady had been with a family member upstairs for a few days and this wasn't her first trip to the cafeteria. As Sarah spoke with the lady, she wished her well and that her family member had a good recovery and she would pray for him. The lady told Sarah how much that meant to her and said Sarah's kindness almost brought her to tears. She was obviously very moved by the warmth and caring demonstrated by Sarah. The lady told Sarah that it meant so much to her to come to the cafeteria and to see her there. Sarah was kind and was reassuring for that family member. This is not the first time I have witnessed the connection Sarah makes with those who are visiting or having a tough day.

When I walk in the cafeteria and I see the way Sarah interacts with staff and visitors, seeing her smile and her friendly comments to all, it shows me how valuable she is to our BGH Team."

Thank you to our Radiologic Technologists!

This week, November 2–8, we proudly celebrate National Radiologic Technology Week (NRTW) and the extraordinary contributions of our radiologic technologists. This annual event honors Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen's discovery of the X-ray on November 8, 1895—a groundbreaking moment that forever changed the landscape of medicine and fueled the creation of your profession.

The theme for this year's celebration, "The Kaleidoscope of Radiologic Technology," beautifully reflects the multifaceted nature of your work. Just as the many pieces of a kaleidoscope come together to form a brilliant, unified image, your diverse expertise—from emergency room and outpatient imaging to pre-surgical assessments and interventional procedures, across different imaging modalities—creates a comprehensive picture for patient care.

Behind every piece of advanced imaging technology is a skilled and compassionate technologist. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our strong and talented group of radiologic technologists. Your dedication ensures that our patients receive the best possible care and health outcomes. Your work is not only noticed, but also deeply appreciated.

Thank you for your tireless commitment to our patients and our hospital.

Today is Stress Awareness Day, a reminder to pause, breathe, and take care of your mental well-being. 🌿

A little stress is part of life, but taking time to manage it can make all the difference. Here are a few quick tips for managing stress:
🔹 Take a short walk or spend time in nature
🔹 Talk to someone you trust
🔹 Try deep breathing or mindfulness
🔹 Prioritize rest and good sleep

Remember that taking care of your mind is just as important as caring for your body. 💙

Great job to all the departments who brought their amazing creativity to the competition! We hope that everyone has a safe and fun holiday!

Congratulations to Margo Johnson, our October Employee of the Month! Margo is our Auxiliary Council President and received this heartfelt nomination:

"Margo has been a steadfast volunteer at BGH for almost 30 years. Always there when you need her and leading the team of volunteers in many activities and fundraisers. She has put together a great team of volunteers and is constantly looking to the future and new volunteers. She is tireless. The following story is recent sample of her dedication to patient care and our BGH Values.

On Monday, Oct 6 while volunteering at the Lobby Desk Margo noticed a woman reaching for the wall with each step while walking towards the lobby. Margo went to her aid and the woman, Emily, told her she needed cataract surgery but could see well enough with her glasses, which she had mislaid. She said she had an appointment at MRI. Margo, taking her arm, helped her down to MRI.

Once at MRI, the woman realized she was at the wrong building and needed to go to the HSB. Margo assisted her to the HSB and along the way the woman found her glasses in the bottom of her purse. She said she was alright and could make it inside. However, Margo insisted on taking her into the building and to the elevator.

While waiting for the elevator, she told Margo she wanted to make a donation to BGH because she never before had such caring attention. Margo told her she appreciated the comments and talked to her about becoming a volunteer and asked her to apply. They hugged and she assured Margo she would take the SPOT bus home and was going to be alright.

Thank you, Margo and congratulations on your well-deserved recognition."
