Get to know Dr. Hannah Robbins, a skilled general surgeon making a meaningful impact on patient care across our region.

In her latest article, Kathy Hubbard highlights Dr. Robbins’ work at Bonner General Health, where she provides a wide range of surgical services and has a special interest in breast surgery and breast cancer care.

Dr. Robbins and her partners also help ensure surgical coverage for rural communities throughout North Idaho and Northeastern Washington, taking emergency surgery call year-round and traveling to neighboring hospitals so more patients can access care locally.

Congratulations to the Sterile Processing Team, our February Employees of the Month!

Johnna Ramsey, Director of Surgery, wrote this nomination to thank her team for their outstanding work:

“I want to recognize Bonner General's amazing Sterile Processing Team. They have been working so hard to keep our instruments usable. Each time we have identified a problem with our trays, the team has worked tirelessly to get all instruments reprocessed. It is a complicated time-consuming process to get any instrument sterile, let alone the thousands of instruments and trays we have that need to be reprocessed.

They have given up several weekends away from family to work so we can move forward. They have helped the staff find items and spent countless hours reviewing trays. They do all of this with a smile and amazing, wonderful attitudes. I am so proud that I get to help lead this incredible team of girls.”

What a beautiful evening at the Heart Ball this weekend and it truly would not have been possible without our incredible volunteers.

A special thank you to our dedicated hospital employees, the amazing student volunteers from HOSA, and the Columbia Bank team for their invaluable help with registration. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm kept the evening running smoothly.

We’re excited to share another story of how the Bonner General Health Foundation is making a real difference for our patients and our hospital.

Today’s featured video highlights the impact of foundation‑supported investments on our Swing Bed Program, a service helping patients transition smoothly from acute care to post‑acute recovery without leaving the hospital.

This means receiving the skilled nursing and rehabilitation care you need in a familiar, local setting close to home.

Thanks to community‑driven fundraising efforts through our Foundation, we’ve been able to strengthen programs like this helping more patients recover comfortably and safely. In fact, inpatient days increased 40% in 2025, in part due to the addition and success of our swing bed services.

Your support truly matters and every donation helps expand high‑quality care right here in our community.
