Kaniksu Community Health

Kaniksu Community Health Providing quality, affordable and accessible medical, dental, behavioral health, pediatric care Integrated healthcare for a patient-centered experience.

We deliver whole patient care regardless of age, economic situation, or health concern. Over the course of your life and the spectrum of your care, from prevention and wellness to medical, dental, and behavioral health, from pediatrics to geriatrics, our team-based approach to patient care means we will help you achieve or maintain good health. Access for everyone. Regardless of how you pay, or the complexity of your conditions, we will help you find solutions. We serve everyone in Bonner and Boundary counties, whether you are covered by Medicare or Medicaid, have private insurance, are a self-pay patient, or one of our country’s veterans. If there are any concerns about how you will pay for services, talk to us. We’re here to help. We don’t just say it. We prove it. Ranked in the top 10% of community health centers across the nation, we have implemented systems that monitor and improve our delivery of care year after year. For example:
Over a period of four years, we decreased the number of patients with uncontrolled diabetes from 36 to 14%. In 2020, we reported the highest level of control in the state for our hypertensive population at 75%

Coordinate your healthcare in a way that you understand. The healthcare landscape is a tough one to navigate and a big part of what we do is untangle that mess. We make it accessible, affordable, and achievable. Your wellbeing starts with you, but when it comes to maintaining or improving your health, choose us, your partner in healthcare.

🧠Fresh Friday Tip 🧠
If emotions feel overwhelming, try naming them.
“I feel stressed,” “I feel disappointed,” or “I feel anxious.”

Putting words to feelings can reduce their intensity and help you respond with care rather than reaction. 💙 It also opens the door for communication, helping others better understand what you’re experiencing.

🤝 Looking for additional support to manage emotions or stress in your life?
Group therapy classes offered through the Behavioral Health Clinic help participants learn how to process emotions, develop healthier thought patterns, and build behaviors that support overall well-being.

💙 January is Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month 💙

Substance use disorders (SUDs) can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, background, or income. Like diabetes, asthma, or arthritis, SUDs are chronic medical conditions that deserve compassionate, evidence-based care.

At Kaniksu Community Health, we treat substance use disorders the same way we treat any other health condition- with dignity, individualized care, and long-term support. 🌱

🩺 Our Substance Use Disorder Services (SUDS) include:
• Outpatient treatment for drug and alcohol use disorders
• Individual and group therapy
• Collaboration with your in-house primary care team
• Integrated care addressing behavioral, physical, and social needs

Recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it isn’t a journey anyone has to walk alone. Whether substance use is mild, moderate, or severe, we stay alongside individuals and their loved ones, adapting care as needs change. 🤝

🧠 Mindful Minute Monday 🧠
Our inner dialogue has a powerful influence on how we feel, respond, and move through the world. Taking a moment to notice your thoughts especially during stress) can help you understand what’s supporting you and what might be holding you back. 🌱

Awareness is often the first step toward change. When we slow down and notice our patterns, we create space to build healthier responses and coping tools over time.

🤝 If you’re looking for additional support, Kaniksu Community Health offers Behavioral Health group therapy classes designed to help participants develop coping skills, identify triggers, and practice healthier ways to respond—all in a supportive, guided environment.

🤔💬 Thinking about group therapy but feeling unsure?
That’s completely normal. 💛

Many people worry about sharing in a group, being judged, or feeling uncomfortable at first. What often surprises them is that group therapy is a supportive, respectful space where listening is just as valuable as speaking, and participation happens at your own pace.

Over time, many participants find that the benefits outweigh the concerns:
✨ Realizing you’re not alone
🛠️ Learning practical coping tools
🤗 Gaining encouragement, accountability, and connection
💬 Feeling understood without judgment

🧠💙 Behavioral Health group therapy classes are available at Kaniksu Community Health, guided by trained professionals who prioritize safety, respect, and confidentiality.
