Please contest contact your local representatives and ask them to support the health and safety of mothers and babies by voting yes on house bill 639 when it comes to the floor for vote on Friday, February 20. If you’re contacting Cornel Rasor (bonner & boundary counties) thank him for already voicing his support! If you’re contacting Jordan Redman (Kootenai County) thank him for being our bill sponsor!

House Bill 639 promotes safe care for mothers and babies by supporting evidence-based updates to the list of medications available to licensed midwives. It also supports midwives to effectively treat postpartum hemorrhage, a leading cause of maternal death and morbidity.

Pro mama tip: when your toddler catches the cold virus going around and is too stuffy/uncomfortable to sleep, try getting into a warm bath with him. Add a generous helping of epsom salt to help with those muscle aches that we all hate so much. Chances are, after hours of restless pacing and rocking, your little one will finally relax against you and take a much needed nap.
