Please join us on Saturday, March 28, 2026 for our annual Bay Area Officials Association Business and Hall of Fame Banquet!

Congratulations to this years 2026 Hall of Fame Class! The 2026 class will include, Jim Yeager, Mark King, and Troy Newsome! Congratulations Gentlemen!

All BAOA Members are able to attend the banquet free of charge, if bringing a guest, you must pay $40 per guest. If you are planning on attending, you must register to attend by March 23rd.

If you are a member and wish to attend please check your email or visit https://www.bayareaofficials.com/hall-of-fame for instructions.

There will be no money collected for guests the night of the banquet as we will need a head count ahead of time.

Again this year will be a cash bar along with a 50/50 raffle. So please bring some cash, credit cards may not be accepted.

The banquet will be held at the Sandusky Yacht Club.

5:00-6:00 PM - Social Hour (Cash Bar)
6:00 - Invocation and Dinner
6:45 - Business Meeting
7:15 - Hall of Fame Ceremony
8:15 - Ceremony ends/Social time

Please join us in congratulating BAOA member Marilyn DeWalt on being chosen as the Ohio High School Athletic Association Girls Basketball Official of the Year for the 2025-26 season.

Marilyn’s selection recognizes the hard work, dedication, and commitment she has given to girls basketball throughout her career. Her numerous Girls State Finals and Regional Finals assignments are a testament to the respect she has earned across the state as an official who strives for excellence in every aspect of officiating. This also reflects her professionalism, preparation, and consistent commitment to performing at the highest level both on and off the court.

Marilyn’s work ethic and integrity have contributed greatly to the continued growth and respect of girls basketball throughout Ohio.

She will be honored at the OHSAA Celebration of Officiating on June 20 at the Hilton Columbus/Polaris.

We are extremely proud to celebrate this achievement. Congratulations, Marilyn!

We will be having our second basketball meeting of the year tonight! Tonight's meeting will run from 7:00 - 8:15 PM at Perkins High School in room 301, enter on the South end of the building through the Administrative Services Entrance.

If you have not yet paid your dues, you can bring cash or a check, $60 for one sport and $70 for both.

Only 1 week left before the season starts!!! We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

The Hall of Fame Committee is requesting nominations for the Bay Area Officials Association Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

Criteria to be nominated for the BAOA Hall of Fame:
1. Must be a present or past member in good standing with the BAOA.
2. Must be or have been a licensed OHSAA Official in good standing.
3. Must have a minimum of 10 years membership to the BAOA and 15 total years as an NFHS Official.
4. Must have been made an impactful contribution to the BAOA.
5. Must not currently be or previously been in a position of office or committee affiliated with the BAOA for 1 year prior to being selected.

Calling all New Basketball Officials!

Tomorrow we will be hosting a Basketball Mentoring Clinic! This is for basketball officials with 1-5 years of experience. This will focus on 2 man mechanics and will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Fremont St Joseph Central Catholic High School from 3pm-7:30pm. The class is FREE OF CHARGE, you will just need to bring a whistle and appropriate court shoes.

Mark King (assigner/commissioner) will speak to the class at the 5pm break. Anyone interested in attending call or text Jeff Todd at (419)677-6120 or Ryan Bowers at (419)706-4753. This is for the purpose of having a head count prior to the event. If any veteran officials would like to help feel free to come as well.
