Did You Know?

As temperatures start to warm up, ticks become active again — which means Lyme disease season is beginning.

Lyme disease is transmitted through the bite of infected deer ticks and can affect both dogs and people.

Early signs in dogs may include:
• Limping that may shift between legs
• Fever
• Lethargy
• Swollen joints
• Loss of appetite

The good news is Lyme disease is preventable! Keeping your pet on year-round tick prevention and checking them for ticks after spending time outdoors can greatly reduce their risk.

If you notice any of these signs or find a tick on your pet, give our clinic a call — we’re happy to help keep your pets safe and healthy!
