Our Community Integrated Employment (CIE) Department recently hosted a Lunch & Learn with members of the Sandwich Area Chamber of Commerce . This was a great opportunity to share more about our CIE program, how it supports individuals in finding meaningful employment, and the value it brings to local businesses.

We also invited attendees to consider whether their business may have a need for placement and if one of our CIE employees could be a great fit. If you have ideas for placements or would like to learn more, please feel free to reach out to Sadie mersadiesmith@odrc.org or Rebecca rebeccaeinhaus@odrc.org—they’d love to connect!

VOICES (Volunteer • Opportunity • Inclusion • Community • Encouragement • Self Advocacy) Club

Throughout the year, our VOICES Club members roll up their sleeves and raise money through bake sales, car washes, and lots of teamwork—all with one goal in mind: giving back to the community that supports us.
Thanks to their hard work and generosity, we were proud to donate over 1,400 diapers to the Diaper Closet at Sandwich Church of the Nazarene. 🍼💛 This donation will help support local families and make a real difference where it’s needed most.
We are so proud of the VOICES Club for living out their mission and showing what happens when inclusion, service, and encouragement come together. Way to go!

We had a great time painting pottery at Arts on Fire Plano "Paint Your Own Pottery" Everyone enjoyed picking out their pieces, choosing colors, and creating something uniquely their own.
We also spent time playing ukuleles—exploring music and sharing lots of smiles along the way.

Our Day Programs had their party to celebrate the Super Bowl! They had a BLAST! The afternoon was filled with food, games, and fun with friends! We’re getting ready for Valentine’s Day at Open Door! 💘
This week, we’ve been crafting Valentine’s Day themed decorations.
We also had a blast with a stuffed animal making activity choosing animals, stuffing them, and bringing home a new cuddly friend. This hands-on experience was a great way to encourage creativity and independence, and the smiles said it all!

We were proud to attend Inclusion Night at Sandwich High School!

We enjoyed connecting with students, and families while celebrating the importance of inclusion, acceptance, and opportunity for all. Events like this highlight the power of coming together to support individuals of all abilities and ensure everyone feels welcomed and valued.
