He is humble, knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly kind, always offering his support with genuine passion and a smile. Whether he is helping an employee navigate a system issue or assisting a resident with technology, Marcus shows the same level of care, respect, and dedication. His friendly presence and willingness to go above and beyond make a real difference on our campus. Marcus doesn’t just solve problems he touches lives for the better. Our Westbrooke Clubhouse Thanksgiving Celebration was a beautiful reminder of all we have to be grateful for. Residents enjoyed a delicious meal, shared in the warmth of a beautiful setting, and celebrated with the company of good neighbors and friends.

Moments like these make our community feel truly special. 💛✨

Brooke Grove Retirement Village is celebrating 75 years of touching lives in 2025—and we kicked off the milestone with a beautiful fall celebration on our Sandy Spring campus.

What started in 1950 with Eleanor Howe Marston welcoming older adults into her farmhouse has grown into a thriving life plan community known for compassionate care, strong relationships, and meaningful engagement. Her legacy lives on through generations—carried forward by her son, Carl Howe, and her grandson, Dr. Ted Howe, who served as our Medical Director for many years.

Carriage rides, seasonal treats, warm fires, and stunning autumn views made this celebration one to remember. But the true highlight was the people—our residents, families, staff, and friends who embody the heart of Brooke Grove every day.

Congratulations to GNA Barbara Chase, who recently celebrated an incredible 39 years at Brooke Grove!

Barbara was honored with 39 roses, presented by Administrator D. Walton and Director of Nursing Sally Kweti, in recognition of her outstanding service and unwavering commitment to our residents. 💙

We’re so grateful for the compassion, care, and heart Barbara has shared with the Brooke Grove community for nearly four decades. What an amazing milestone!

As a retirement gift for Dennis Hunter, the Independent Living Residents Association purchased a young sycamore tree to be planted on the Brooke Grove campus.

Earlier this month, Dennis joined an enthusiastic group of IL residents to plant the little sycamore near the Westbrooke Clubhouse — with lots of help from Josh Smith and our amazing Grounds Crew.

It’s a beautiful tribute to Dennis’s many years of leadership, and a symbol of continued growth, strength, and community at Brooke Grove. 💙🌿

🌟 Assisted Living LIFE Illustrator of the Month 🌟
Lori Johns, LIFE Enrichment Coordinator

Lori has been a cherished part of our LIFE Enrichment team for many years, bringing joy, warmth, and kindness to residents across all our assisted living homes. She truly lives out customer service principal #10: Spread the joy!

Recently, Lori went above and beyond to help one of our Indian residents celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights. She quietly organized and prepared the resident’s favorite dishes — Puri, Biryani, chickpeas, tomatoes, and beet salad — and set a beautifully decorated table to make the moment special.

Her thoughtful gesture touched the resident’s heart, bringing gratitude, happiness, and joy.

Thank you, Lori, for creating meaningful connections and showing such genuine care to those we serve.

Our Independent Living residents wrapped 189 scarves, socks, gloves, and blankets to help fellow Montgomery County seniors stay warm in the colder days ahead. 🧣🧤

Westbrooke Clubhouse felt as busy as Santa’s workshop as residents wrapped dozens of donated items for the Scarves for Seniors initiative of the Grass Roots Organization for the Well-being of Seniors (GROWS). Many pieces were hand-knitted or crocheted with love, and all will be deeply appreciated by the seniors in affordable housing who receive them.

Spreading warmth, kindness, and joy — that’s the Brooke Grove way. 💙
