In honor of Heart Month, we're shining a spotlight on Jennifer from OTF Corvallis. 2 years ago, Jennifer survived a heart attack. Just 57 days later, she was back in the studio — not because the journey was easy, but because movement, community, and hope mattered deeply to her.
After her heart attack, Jennifer began cardiac rehab — a humbling experience for someone who had been active and a regular at OTF. It meant slow walks on a treadmill, constant monitoring by a medical team, and a crash cart within arm’s reach. It was a long, painful road, but it was the road she needed to take to find her new normal.
Jennifer and her studio wear red with pride. National Wear Red Day is especially close to her heart because it helps shine a light on heart and cardiovascular disease in women — and the importance of knowing the signs, which can often look different than they do in men.
Her story is a reminder of resilience, strength, and the power of listening to your body ❤️ Throughout the month, we’ll be wearing red for stories like Jennifer’s — and for every heart that keeps showing up.
