As January comes to a close, many people are reflecting on Dry January — whether they committed to the whole month, tried a few weeks, or simply paused to notice their relationship with alcohol.
There’s no “right” way to do it. What matters is the awareness: noticing habits, patterns, and how your body and mind respond when something changes.
This kind of reflection is often part of the work supported by Rick Reimann, a licensed therapist at Healing Focus Counseling who works with adolescents and adults navigating substance use and recovery.
For some, this month brought clarity. For others, it raised questions. And for many, it reminded us that change often starts with awareness — not judgment.
