Do you know the difference between a callus and a corn? Both can appear on the feet and are often caused by pressure or friction. However, calluses tend to appear on weight-bearing areas of the feet, like the heel or sole. Corns tend to appear on non-weight-bearing areas, like the top of the toes, and are often more painful.

Acute gout attacks are characterized by a rapid onset of pain in the affected joint followed by warmth, swelling, reddish discoloration, and marked tenderness. 5 Signs Your Feet Are Trying to Tell You Something 👣

We often ignore our feet until they’re screaming for attention. But early intervention is the secret to staying active! Keep an eye out for:

1️⃣ Persistent morning heel pain.

2️⃣ Changes in nail color or texture.

3️⃣ Numbness or tingling that won't go away.

4️⃣ Swelling that persists after a long day.

5️⃣ Uneven wear patterns on your favorite shoes.

Don't let a small ache become a big hurdle. Your mobility is our priority at Elite Foot and Ankle Associates.

Let’s clear the air on some "foot folklore" 👣 Medical edition!

❌ MYTH: "If I can walk on it, it’s definitely not broken."
✅ FACT: You can actually walk on many types of foot fractures! Ignoring the pain can lead to improper healing and long-term joint issues.

❌ MYTH: "Ingrown toenails are just a cosmetic problem."
✅ FACT: Left untreated, they can lead to serious infections, especially for those with diabetes. A quick, professional fix is much safer than "bathroom surgery." 🙅‍♂️

❌ MYTH: "Foot pain is just a natural part of getting older."
✅ FACT: Pain is never "normal." Your feet are meant to carry you comfortably at any age!

At Elite Foot and Ankle Associates, we provide the facts (and the fixes) to keep you moving comfortably.

3 Signs it’s time to see a Podiatrist (that aren’t just "my foot hurts") 👇

1️⃣ Your shoes are wearing unevenly: This is a major clue that your gait is off, which can lead to hip and back pain!

2️⃣ Numbness or tingling: If your feet feel like they’re "falling asleep" constantly, it’s time for a check-up.

3️⃣ You’ve changed how you walk: Shifting your weight to avoid a specific spot? That’s your body’s SOS signal. 🚩

At Elite Foot and Ankle Associates, we’re here to help you move better and live better.
