Partners. We see you! We hear you!

When it comes to doula support involving a partner, we teach them all the ways they are able to support their other half and leave the timing and frequency of their support up to them.
⠀
Sometimes a birthing partner may be very hands on, and others may support where they feel comfortable. Either way, at PTB, we practice meeting them where they are. We understand that not everyone is ok with the sounds, the looks, and the smell of the birthing process. And because of this, we make sure the partners needs are also met— mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Here are some ways PTB can support the partner:

✨ Reminding them to eat and drink
✨ Allowing time for them to rest
✨Teaching them comfort measures
✨ Including them in the conversation
✨ Making sure their birth preferences are met as much as possible— cutting the cord, etc.

Partners— how did or can you feel the most supported during labor? What type of support do you feel you need?
