After a 5 year pause from the pandemic, Steve Horne of DBR Ministries resumed the mission's work in the Philippines, training Pastors, Christian Leaders, and Seminary Students on how to help people with addictions. Three seminars were conducted using the book "7 Things Christians Need to Know About Addictions," attended by more than 175 people. Locations of the seminars were Dumaguete, Tacloban, and the Leyte Baptist Seminary in Southern Leyte.

Overall a successful trip with all goals accomplished, including initiating plans to continue in 2025. Thank you to Pastor Eliezer & Hannah Yanson for coordinating all the destinations, plans and travel, and to all the Filipino Pastors, workers, and attendees for making the seminars successful.

A special thanks to all the individuals and organizations that provided sponsorship's for Pastors to attend the seminars. Your investment in this ministry partnership will be multiplied throughout the Philippines.

Recently returned from our 2019 Missions Trip to the Philippines. Spent 2 weeks conducting 4 Addiction Seminars in the Manila area. Hundreds of Pastors, Christian Leaders, and Seminary Students received a full day of training, a syllabus, and a copy of the book "7 Things Christians Need to Know About Addiction."
Baptist Bible College Asia and Global Surge hosted the events, providing staff, facilities, transportation, and lodging. It was truly a blessing to partner with them.
Pastor Eliezer & Hannah Yanson accompanied Steve for the entire trip. They have been with us since the beginning of our ministry in the Philippines (2016).
The post trip presentation will be on Monday, Sept. 23rd @ 6:30pm, at Grace Chapel Church, Sanford, NC. There will be a live stream on DBR Ministries page.

Newsletter Information.
Two upcoming domestic events for DBR.

One will be held on August 10th at Hope Community Church in Raleigh, NC, on the subject of Codependency. It will run from 8am to 12pm, and anyone can attend. Check for sign ups through the churches website at https://gethope.net/codependency/.

The second event will be October 4th & 5th at Grace Life Community Church in Bristow, Virginia. This event will include a Friday night dinner for anyone wanting to learn about addiction recovery ministries. Saturday will be an all day event focusing in the morning on Addiction and in the afternoon on Codependency. There are no limitations to attend, all are welcome. The intent by the leadership of the church is for this to be the inaugural event that will lead to an annual conference.

We all have some type of codependent tendencies; it’s what makes us human. Join us as we learn the problem with co-dependency, warning signs, how to read them properly and the solution.
