I am writing to share an important , exciting and positive update regarding the continued growth of our medical practice.
Over the years, my commitment has always been to provide thoughtful, thorough, and patient-centered care—without rushing decisions or compromising standards. As our practice has grown, it has become increasingly important to ensure that we can continue to meet your needs with the same level of attention, accessibility, and clinical excellence you have come to expect.
With that in mind, I am pleased to introduce Nicole Ahlers, who is a board certified nurse practitioner joining our practice as a medical partner.
I selected Nicole personally after careful consideration. She shares my philosophy of medicine, my approach to clinical decision-making, and my commitment to treating patients as individuals—not numbers. We have and will continue to work collaboratively, discuss cases together, and align closely on care plans to ensure continuity and consistency.

Hi everyone,
My name is Nicole Ahlers, and I am excited to officially introduce myself as a Family Nurse Practitioner joining the team at Back to Basics Medical Practice in Sanford, North Carolina, where I will be working alongside Dr. Patterson. I have spent nearly a decade in the medical field with experience in obstetrics and gynecology, including labor and delivery, postpartum care, gynecologic care and functional medicine. My time in these areas has shaped a deep appreciation for the resilience and complexity of the human body and has influenced the way I view health, and what it means to fully live.
I bring this philosophy into every patient interaction, valuing thoughtful, individualized care and enjoying the opportunity to partner with all patients as they work toward improved health and overall well-being. My current clinical interests include women’s health, fertility, dealing with both men and women’s hormonal challenges, pediatric needs and functional and longevity-focused medicine.
Outside of work, you will often find me spending time with my husband, daughter, and our two dogs, enjoying the beach, and being with friends and family. I look forward to meeting many of you over the coming months and being part of your care here at Back to Basics. I have already had the pleasure of meeting many of you over the past year while learning and training alongside Dr. Patterson, and I am grateful to continue that journey in this new role.
