In this blissful retreat we have the opportunity to increase our life span, merit (good karma), and wisdom through the special meditation practice of Buddha Amitayus.

Our human life is our most precious possession because it gives us the opportunity to improve ourselves and attain the supreme happiness of enlightenment, thus being in a position to help everyone! We therefore need a long and healthy life. To engage successfully in spiritual practice we also need wisdom, as well as the merit or good fortune that strengthens our mind and supports the growth of spiritual realizations.

A torma is a special offering of food made in order to gain spiritual attainments. Tor means everything and ma means for the sake of all living beings. These traditional offerings are usually made of marzipan and are offered to the Buddhas in various ritual practices.

This hands-on workshop will be informal, practical and a lot of fun. It is suitable for everyone, whether you are an experienced practitioner or a complete beginner. So come join us as we learn about the various types of tormas and how to make them in a qualified manner according to the New Kadampa lineage

HAPPY HERUKA DAY!

☸️ Special Offering to the Spiritual Guide
Sunday, January 25, 12pm-2pm.
Everyone is welcome

Today we celebrate our good fortune to have the Highest Yoga Ta**ra practice of Buddha Heruka in our world!

💙 The following is an extract from the book Essence of Vajrayana by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Buddha Vajradhara, Buddha Shakyamuni, and Buddha Heruka are the same person, differing only in aspect. When Buddha turned the Wheel of Dharma of Sutra he appeared in the form of an ordained person, when he turned the Wheel of Dharma of Ta**ra in general he appeared in the form of Vajradhara, and when he turned the Wheel of Dharma of Heruka Ta**ra in particular he appeared in the form of Heruka.

Heruka is Buddha’s mind of compassion manifested as form. Only Buddhas have the ability to display their minds as form. We sentient beings are unable to do this because our mind and body are different natures, but a Buddha’s mind and body are the same nature and so wherever their mind goes their body goes too. We always perceive a gap between our mind and its object. This is a mistaken perception, or mistaken appearance. Having completely abandoned this mistaken perception, Buddhas have the ability to display their mind as form, such as the forms of living beings and inanimate objects. For this reason it is said that Buddhas’ emanations pervade the whole universe.

How lucky we are to have the Highest Yoga Ta***ic quick path to enlightenment in our world! 💙
