Sixty years ago today St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital opened, but the dream of St. Jude started well before February 4, 1962. It began with Danny Thomas and a willingness to give back to the country that had given him so much. Today, we celebrate Danny's legacy of gratitude and appreciation. We cheer the many researchers, doctors and staff who push the boundaries of science to save the lives of children around the globe.
We honor all St. Jude patients, past and present. And we give thanks to our loyal supporters for making our mission possible. Because of you, St. Jude is able to expand in scope and extend its lifesaving mission to help more children around the world.

Un día como hoy, en 1962, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital abrió sus puertas, pero el sueño de Danny Thomas empezó mucho antes del 4 de febrero hace 60 años. Empezó con el deseo de Danny Thomas de retribuir a este país un poco de lo mucho que a él y su familia, le había dado. Hoy celebramos el legado de agradecimiento y apreciación de Danny. Aplaudimos a los científicos, doctores y a los empleados que día a día superan los límites de lo imaginable para salvar la vida de niños en todo el mundo.
Honramos a nuestros pacientes pasados y presentes. También agradecemos a los amigos que nos han apoyado para que esto sea posible. Gracias a ti, St. Jude puede expandir su misión de salvar más niños en todo el mundo
