To Peter (With love from Jim)
While others scramble for attention,
Eager to be seen and heard,
You watched and waited,
Knowing that to listen
Is to see the truth.

Strength of Stoneman
in your quiet walk,
And solid as a rock,
You lived up to your name.
“ Upon this rock….”
The Good Lord said,
And Peter bowed his head.

Humility becomes a man.
It is what made you shine.
The silent, gateway virtue
Without whilch
All the other virtues pale.

You were a rare and noble gift
To us, my friend,
A welcome spark of life
In our vast, mysterious world.

If you could see yourself
As others see you,
How your heart would swell…
Enough to bring you peace and joy
In your last moment
Of a life well-lived…

This poem was sent to Peter the day he passed to the other side (April 3, 2025). It is such a beautiful ode to Peter and who he was on this earth.
