Just wrapped up a spinal cord stimulator trial for a lovely woman who has been suffering from debilitating tailbone pain after she fractured her tailbone almost a year ago. Shes dialed injections and conservative treatment. Fingers crossed the stimulator trial works for her!

Did you know that your spine also has joints called the facets? These tiny joints are paired up at every level in the spine and connect with the bones above and below. Just like other joints of the body, these can become inflamed in an acute trauma or arthritic as we age causing neck or back pain. In this image the patient is receiving a small dose of corticosteroids in three of the right sided facet joints to reduce inflammation and pain in these joints. Prior to injecting the steroids, we inject a contrast dye to assess for accuracy and safety.

Daniel Roshan MD, QME is an Interventional Pain Management specialist, double board-certified in Pain and Anesthesiology and a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) in the field of Pain Management. He has a passion for wellness and empowering his patients to regain control of their lives by relieving their pain and restoring their ability to get back to the things they love doing.
This passion can be traced back to his early years when Dr. Roshan played basketball and football, participated in Olympic weightlifting and practiced martial arts including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This appreciation for an active lifestyle led him to become a personal trainer and strength coach, which helped him connect the dots between physical, mental, and emotional health and the importance of properly managing pain and injuries.
Dr. Roshan did his Pain Fellowship at the prestigious Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He has earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine and his medical degree at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He also completed his postdoctoral clinical training with an anesthesiology residency at University of Illinois College of Medicine.
Dr. Roshan is a distinguished figure in many medical and professional associations including the International Intervention Society, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the Central Coast Medical Association, the California Society of Anesthesiologists, the California Medical Association, the American Medical Association and the North American Neuromodulation Society.
