💫 Non-dual Effortless Mindfulness: Afternoon Retreat 💫
Saturday, December 6
2-4:30PM
with Radhule Weininger

This afternoon retreat presents the philosophy and practice of pointing-out practices, a Tibetan-inspired non-dual meditation series that guides us to experience Awake Awareness. These practices are accompanied by sustainable compassion practices, introducing us to the warmth and love that are always already there. These complementary practices allow us to find the deepest refuge and also be fully engaged in our lives.

These effortless, non-dual mindfulness practices are inspired by ancient Mahamudra and Dzogchen practices. In a step-by-step way, these practices led from full-body awareness to concentration practices to emptiness practices, gradually crossing into awake, natural, loving awareness. As wisdom and compassion are the two wings that allow a bird to fly, wisdom practices will be balanced with sustainable compassion practices. Even though the goal of these practices is deeper and deeper levels of awareness and compassion, we address how to bring these practices into everyday life engagement and loving presence.

Participants will gain access to the experience of awake awareness, which allows them access to the qualities of spaciousness, ease, effortlessness, wisdom, natural compassion and warmth. Participants will leave with a foundation that points to ways to not only glimpse, but fully experience that quality of awake, effortless, natural awareness.

🧸 Yoga Soup Toy Drive! 🧸
Supporting Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation
Now - December 4th

Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation is a local nonprofit supporting children with cancer and their families through treatment and beyond.

This holiday season, Yoga Soup is partnering with them to collect toys for their annual Holiday Party on December 14th. Around 200 children and teens will gather to celebrate, and each child will receive a gift—a moment of joy during a challenging time. Your donation of a new, unwrapped toy or gift card helps bring light and hope to these families when they need it most.

Thank you for sharing your generosity with this beautiful community.

💜 Gong Yoga Nidra 💜
This Sunday, Nov. 30
with Mitsuko McGavock

The practice of Yoga Nidra can create new neural pathways in the brain. It has been shown to reduce the impact of deep emotional associations from past experiences on the nervous and immune system. Mitsuko will read a script that takes one’s awareness on a trip through the physical body, breath body, sense body– guiding the mind through the subconscious. She will end the sound meditation by chaperoning the imagination to outer space by the vibratory sounds of duelling gongs.

This is an explorative journey to be encountered with an child like curiosity to amplify the natural balance of body, mind and spirit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀

Several people attending past gatherings shared stories of the event leaving them feeling pain free and emotionally light, with these wonderful effects lasting for several days. Each person's experience is different.

Where will your subconscious take you? Find out!

✨ New Teacher ✨

Meet Becca Huxley! Becca is joining our teacher team with a new Saturday afternoon class coming soon.

"I stumbled across Yoga online in university in 2012 and it has continued to grow and evolve with me ever since. Originally from Wales I love to travel and left the Uk to explore in 2015, always carrying my Yoga mat with me.

Throughout my travels and settling in Australia and then New Zealand Yoga became a constant source of grounding, a way to connect to self, like minded people and build community as a practitioner and then as a teacher.

After completing my 200 hr YTT in 2021 I have continued to expand my knowledge through study and self practice. My personal practice organically shifted to Ashtanga in 2021, finding a deeper internal awareness within the Mysore style and Tristhana method. Subsequently making two trips to Mysore India in 2023 and 2024 to practice with renowned teacher Vijay Kumar. Alongside my practice, I have studied Prāṇāyāma with Sri BNS Iyengar, a former student of Krishnamacharya. As well as back bending and hip mobility with Vinay Kumar of Pranavasha Yoga.

I teach Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin and Prāṇāyāma. My offerings focus on creating strong and steady foundations to grow a safe and sustainable āsana practice, ensuring everyone feels confident and empowered to explore their limits safely and in a fun way. I give students the guidance and encouragement to create a mind-body connection, using the tools of Yoga to turn inwards, connect to self and find stillness on the mat.

Outside of Yoga I love to rock climb and hike, drink coffee and explore new places (sometimes all at the same time). Whenever I can I love to go see live music and you’ll probably find me at a local gig with friends."

Keep your eye out and say hi to Becca when you see her. We are so glad she is joining our team. 🙂

💜 Somatic Release Breathwork 💜
Thursday, Nov. 20 @ 6:45 pm
With Regina Powers

Somatic Release Breathwork (SRB) utilizes “conscious connected breath” - an intentional breathing technique that involves a continuous and circular pattern of inhalation and exhalation without pauses between the two. We begin by lying down or finding a comfortable seated position to enhance relaxation. The emphasis is on deep, rhythmic breathing, where each inhalation flows seamlessly into the next exhalation. The aim of no pauses between breaths is to create a sense of flow and connection. Breathers are encouraged to maintain focus on their breath, allowing thoughts and emotions to surface naturally.

🖤 Embracing Death: Conversations in Community 🖤
Thursday, Nov. 20 @ 6:30 PM
with Daniel Polk

Join us for "Embracing Death," a thoughtfully facilitated conversation designed to explore what death can teach us about living. This is a welcoming container for community dialogue. Together, we will gently explore our personal and cultural relationships with mortality.

We will share space to reflect on the tender moments of love that grief so often illuminates, and consider what it means to approach the end of life with intention. This conversation is a reminder that death, like so many of life's significant passages, is a journey better navigated when we do it consciously and with the support of our loved ones.

This event is for anyone—the curious, the grieving, the planners, and those who simply wish to live more fully by making peace with life's final chapter. Your presence is the only requirement.

Our Story

Yoga Soup is a fluid, organic idea that is constantly re-shaping itself. As it grows it will no doubt assume different forms but it’s hard to imagine its intention much changing: to provide a safe, vibrant, serious and light-hearted space for self-observation and transformation to occur.
