This the season to be very thankful for our volunteers and staff greeting residents and members or teaching classes. Some volunteers have been with us for more than 20 years😍 This is also the season when members bring in their home baked goodies to share, hence the 24 Days of Fitness challenge to burn off the extra calories! Fannie Flagg (author of numerous books including “Can’t Wait to Get to Heaven,” “Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe,” and most recently “Something to Look Forward To”) spoke to Vista about her life on Monday morning! After a witty conversation, Fannie hosted a Q&A session followed by a book signing…such a treat!

Our Ugly Sweater Contest with employees and residents was an absolute hit! From sparkles and silly designs to the wonderfully “ugly” masterpieces, the holiday spirit was everywhere.
Laughter and lots of festive fun filled the day as everyone showed off their most creative sweaters. Thank you to all who joined in and made this celebration so memorable. What a joyful way to kick off the season!

Some staff pranked the executive director by playing a “Drink out of anything but a cup” joke at a couple of meetings this week. Thankful for these groups that come together to make a difference for the residents and each other…Happy Thanksgiving!

Sweet things are happening in the kitchen. Our Dining Room Supervisor is busy in the kitchen whipping up fresh desserts for our Thanksgiving Brunch tomorrow! Pumpkin tiramisu and a rich chocolate pecan tart… it’s going to be delicious!

Yesterday one of our residents had the pleasure of sitting down with a fellow resident to learn more about their history, past experiences, and personal interests. Moments like these remind us how much wisdom, joy, and life stories live right here within our community.

These conversations not only bring us closer together, but they also help us celebrate each resident’s unique journey. We love seeing friendships grow and memories shared.

What a fantastic evening spent in the company of residents and staff during our much-anticipated movie night! The atmosphere was full of excitement as everyone gathered together to enjoy this special event. Lots of snacks and food were on hand. The aroma of freshly popped popcorn wafted through the air, enticing everyone with its buttery goodness. Kudos to the Wellness Team for making these special events.
