Giving Tuesday is coming up on Dec 2. It invites various opportunities to share with others in need. Janus Counseling has been providing very low cost counseling support to those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. This time of year can be the most difficult season for the most vulnerable, and donating a supportive therapy session ($30) or a series of 4 sessions ($100) to an individual, couple, child, teen, or family in need, is a lovely way to help build up our community in a time where resiliance is needed most.

In Janus therapy sessions, your child will experience a non-judgmental, safe, open, and honest environment. Feeling accepted and understood is so important. We separate the child from the behavior so that they know that we are not judging them based on some not-so-great moments in their lives. We collaborate with both you and your child to identify the challenges and possible solutions. Our therapists participate in activities with your child during counseling sessions to increase your child’s engagement, and then connect the activity to an important emotional skill to practice in life. Alzheimers is experienced by so many, and as a family member, friend, or caregiver, it can be emotionally troubling. The deep grief and loss in a longer goodbye can be challenging and hard. The play "The Father", directed by Bill Egan, is opening at Center Stage Theater in Santa Barbara California. The story deals with the theme of relationships and illness and how to navigate the miriad of emotions and processes. Janus Counseling Center is proud to support and sponsor this work of theater and we hope it will help people feel supported even with confusing and scary feelings. The performance is poignant and very funny. Sharing the experience through live theater can be therapeutic! Get your tickets right away.

Janus has a lovely group of therapists that meet with clients in person, and there are a few working strictly over telehealth (Zoom). For those who would like to find a new wonderful therapist that works through telehealth, Janus has an affordable rate of $50-$70 per session. If you know of someone in California that could use some extra support and guidance due to anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or relationship challenges, all are within our therapeutic wheelhouse.
