YOGA WITH INTENTION – EVERY THURSDAY AT 9:00AM
Every Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.
Teacher: Christiane Brems, PhD, ABPP, ERYT500, C-IAYT

The Breast Cancer Resource Center’s Yoga with Intention is a yoga series developed specifically for individuals dealing with breast cancer whether in treatment, recovery, or post-treatment. Always consult your physician before beginning any exercise program. If you experience any pain or difficulty with these exercises, stop and consult your healthcare provider. Each session lasts 60 minutes and includes opening centering, breathing practices, gentle movement, and meditation or guided imagery. Each session ends with a period of stillness, an opportunity to absorb the benefits of the practice before returning to daily activities. All practices are designed to support many aspects of recovery from breast cancer, with one aspect receiving special emphasis each month.

Reflexology - In person & by appointment only
First and Third Friday of each month, 10:00am - 12:00pm

The Breast Cancer Resource Center is pleased to offer monthly reflexology sessions by appointment in a private, comfortable setting.

Reflexology is a treatment that applies hand pressure to specific areas of the hands and/or feet to invigorate and balance the flow of energy throughout the body. Practitioners believe that specific reflex points are linked to various organs and parts of the body. Thus, when gently manipulated, it can affect the organ or body by stimulating circulation and reviving good health to promote recovery.

At the BCRC, reflexologists apply pressure to selected points while clients lay, fully clothes, on a massage table listening to soothing music. Reflexology is free to BCRC clients. Please email programs@bcrcsb.org or call the BCRC at (805) 569 9693 to schedule an appointment.

Join us for our monthly in-person Digital Workshop Monday, January 12, 2026. For January, we’re focusing on a very timely and much-requested topic: using ChatGPT and AI tools responsibly. Many BCRC clients have shared curiosity about whether it’s safe to use AI when searching for health information, asking personal questions, or navigating sensitive parts of their breast cancer journey. This workshop will help clarify what AI can — and cannot — do safely. Paul will explain how to use AI thoughtfully, how to protect your privacy, and how to recognize the limitations of these tools. He’ll also offer simple strategies for asking better questions and understanding when AI can be helpful for general information or everyday tasks — and when it’s important to check in with qualified medical providers for anything related to health or treatment.

This is an in-person workshop, and space is limited. Bring your own tablet device.
For reservations, call (805) 569-9693 or email programs@bcrcsb.org.

The BCRC offers in-person and distant Reiki Sessions by appointment. Distance Reiki is available on the 2nd and 4th, TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH and in-person Reiki EVERY TUESDAY by appointment. Reiki healing is a form of alternative therapy that can be completed through distance healing or in-person. Available at no charge for those currently receiving or recovering from recent breast cancer treatment. Clients do not need to be in physical proximity to practitioners in order to receive its benefits. It’s been reported to promote feelings of calmness, tranquility, positive thoughts and a reduction of side effects associated with treatments. Reiki helps activate the “wellness within” each of us. Each session is 30 minutes. To schedule session or learn more visit https://zurl.co/npeEn , email programs@bcrcsb.org or call 805-569-9693

Mark your calendar and join the BCRC online via Zoom on January 9th, 2026, at 12:00 PM PT for a free LIVE LEARN LUNCH session. This special session will be presented by Deann Zampelli, National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach, a health columnist for the Montecito Journal, and a volunteer coach at the BCRC.

In this LIVE LEARN LUNCH session, discover practical ways to set intentions, create sustainable habits, and feel more empowered on your wellness journey.

Making meaningful changes to support your health can feel difficult—especially while navigating the physical, emotional, and daily challenges of a breast cancer diagnosis or survivorship. In this empowering session, Deann Zampelli will share simple, neuroscience-based tools from the Duke Integrative Medicine program she’s trained in, offering guidance that can help you build clarity, motivation, and confidence as you care for your future self.

Deann brings a compassionate and practical perspective to Healthy Aging. She recently launched a new program called Preventive Health Coaching, which highlights approachable ways to reflect on daily habits and areas of well-being you may want to strengthen over time.

The session includes a brief guided journaling component. We recommend coming prepared with a notepad or your daily journal for the interactive part of the session.
