Bringing Neurodiagnostics to Rural Hospitals
We’re so proud of Joe Schorre, Director of Cardiopulmonary and Emergency Management at Huntsville Memorial Hospital, who is presenting today at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions on “Integrating Neurodiagnostics into a Rural Hospital.”
Joe’s story highlights a challenge faced by countless rural hospitals across America - the lack of access to essential neurodiagnostic services.
Like many small hospitals, Huntsville Memorial once had no EEG services, no neurologists on-site, and no EEG techs available. A review of two years of emergency department transfer data revealed something striking: nearly half of all neuro-related transfers - around 10 patients each month - happened simply because the hospital couldn’t perform EEGs in-house.
With the adoption of Zeto EEG technology, Huntsville Memorial Hospital can now perform EEGs onsite giving patients faster access to critical care and keeping more families together during medical emergencies.
At the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions, Joe Daniel Schorre is sharing this journey, showing how innovation can help rural hospitals bridge critical care gaps and better serve their communities.
