🍪💙 Bellarmine College Preparatory Students Lend a Hand at JW House! 💙🍪

Last weekend, a group of students from Bellarmine College Prep spent their Saturday baking fresh cookies for our guest families and helping us take down and clean up all of our Halloween decorations.

Not only did they bring delicious treats — they brought energy, teamwork, and genuine kindness. 💪🎃✨

We are so grateful for our continued partnership with Bellarmine and are constantly inspired by how their students step up to serve our families with compassion and heart.

Earlier this year, 19-year-old Sarah Hennessey collapsed into life-threatening illness. Flu A → Pneumonia → Strep A → Sepsis. Her heart function dropped to 25%, and she was airlifted to Santa Clara for life-saving care. Months of treatment followed — including a spinal stroke and a near-fatal battle with malnutrition — but Sarah fought back with strength and courage. 🥰

While her family cared for her, JW House cared for them.

Last Thursday, the JW House team crossed the street to our neighbors at Kaiser Permanente to deliver candy and Halloween goodie bags to the pediatrics unit — and what an incredible day it was! 🧡

🎃 Halloweek at JW House! 👻

Last week, our incredible JW House volunteers embodied the spooky spirit of Halloween — and they did not disappoint! From creative costumes to festive fun, our volunteers brought so much joy to our guests and families.

And on Halloween day, we had a special treat — six therapy dogs from our friends at Canine CO. stopped by, all dressed up in their paw-some costumes! 🐾 Their visit filled the House with smiles, laughter, and a whole lot of tail wags.

🌟 New Commnity Partnership ! 🌟

We’re thrilled to share that JW House has partnered with Eat Happy Now, a nonprofit that’s helping us bring even more warmth (and delicious food!) to our families. 🍛🥯

Since July 29, Eat Happy Now has donated over 370 meals, including generous servings of bagels and flavorful Indian dishes — all helping us continue our mission of hospitality and care.

Their mission is simple yet powerful: to connect surplus food to those who need it most, using technology to match food donations in real time — preventing waste and feeding communities. 💛

From 1 PM to 4 PM, several therapy dogs — including Guzzy, Skye, Dory, Eleven, and more — will be visiting JW House, spreading smiles, snuggles, and Halloween cheer. 🐶
