Let’s talk about uterine rupture + TOLAC.
Uterine rupture is real, and it’s also rare. For most people attempting a TOLAC after one prior low-transverse C-section, the risk is well under 1% when appropriately screened and supported.
That said, not every situation is the same. Certain factors can increase the risk (like the type of uterine incision, multiple prior C-sections, short spacing between pregnancies, or certain induction methods), and in those cases, a provider may recommend against TOLAC for safety.
This is why education matters. And why the provider you choose matters.
A supportive and experienced midwife or OB will take time to review your history, explain real risks vs. myths, and help you make an informed decision; not a fear-based one.
You deserve evidence-based care, honest conversations, and a team that respects your autonomy and your safety.
