The Pentagon was running AI-powered bombing missions in Iran using a tool called Claude — made by a company called Anthropic. The same AI I use every single day to build businesses, automate workflows, and help agents and companies compete at a level that used to require a full team.
The Pentagon wanted to remove all restrictions on how that AI could be used. Autonomous weapons. Mass surveillance of American citizens. No limits.
Anthropic said no.
Trump fired them publicly. The Pentagon labeled them a supply chain risk — a designation they've never applied to an American company before. That label is for Huawei. For Chinese state-linked tech. Not for a company founded in San Francisco.
Anthropic is now suing the Trump administration.
