What an incredible day...
Today is like no other. It is a magnificent celebration. I'm honored to share this magnificent moment in time

It's JUNETEENTH, which celebrates the day that even Texas was forced Honor to the emancipation of Black human beings.
On June 19, 1865 when a Union general read orders in Galveston, Texas stating all enslaved people in the state were free according to federal law. In Texas this occurred 2.5 years after the rest of the United States.
LET'S BE CLEAR:
"The Emancipation Proclamation was signed by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863, though word of the edict would not officially reach Texas for another two and half years, on June 19, 1865.

With that, a gift that lay outside of the realm of human influence, today also celebrates the full Strawberry Moon. It will appear extremely low on the horizon, the lowest Moon of the year. June's full Moon also happens a day after summer solstice, the longest day of the year and the official start of astronomical summer.

Go look outside and within.

Remember to extend a hand to help others, what ever we have it is enough to share.

Thank you so much for Supporting WAMM Phytotherapies and the Hook. When the Hook opens, WAMM Phyto will be able to provide access for our members. What we do today affects us and others forever.

We throw our collective arms around you in a huge thankful embrace.

Now to begin working with the School Board so that we can provide support in building a safe, loving, healthy environment for young people to encourage them to make healthy choices

As you know for more than three decades, WAMM Phytotherapies has provided safe access to cannabis medicines for sick and dying members of our community at no cost.
For 19 years our dispensary was located on the Westside. Our work touches lives, gives hope, and provides plant medicines, making illness and death a little less painful. Our vision to provide services coupled with our commitment to holistic care and the health of our community remains unwavering. We now have a rare opportunity to partner with the Hook Outlet Dispensary, a successful local company who shares our values and is committed to WAMM Phytotherapies’ provision of cannabis medicines to our needy members.
In fact, this is the only way that WAMM Phyto will be able to continue our unprecedented work.
It’s been incredibly difficult to find a space that meets the rigors of State and City regulations and setbacks (600 ft from a school). The old Emily’s Bakery site meets all the criteria. We aren’t asking for a special use, so there should be no problem in opening.
However, the school board opposes this plan, fearing that youth would have easy access to cannabis. We appreciate this concern and that is why for 30 years we have made it our priority to safeguard youth from access. It is not difficult to do in a protected environment. No youth under 19 years of age, even with a medical card will be permitted to enter this secured and safe facility which is dedicated to serving adults.

This Last August the CZU Fires devastated over 1200 homes in Santa Cruz County. David and Leona Lost their home and belongings narrowly escaping to safety that harrowing afternoon of August 20, 2020.
