Arrive Reproductive Medicine

Arrive Reproductive Medicine Anne Chiaramonte, LAc, FAORM is a licensed acupuncturist and fellow of the American Board of Orienta

Anne fell in love with the philosophy of Chinese medicine as an anthropology student at UCLA. In 2004, she received her master’s degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Emperor’s College in Santa Monica. Anne’s interest in women’s health led her to Sydney, Australia, where she studied the integration of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and acupuncture with renowned author Jane Lyttleton. A year later she worked with Dr. Lifang Liang, author of "Acupuncture & IVF” and was part of one of the first onsite acupuncture programs for an IVF clinic at Pacific Fertility Center (PFC) in San Francisco. Anne also has advanced training in acupuncture orthopedics from Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills where she collaborated with many western doctors including neurologists, rheumatologists, radiologists and chiropractors. She is a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (FABORM) and a Diplomate of the National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics (Dipl.NBAO). Anne’s practice is largely centered on couples that are trying to conceive. She sees many women with endocrine issues such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and helps support couples through the in vitro fertilization (IVF) process. She loves to take the time to listen to her patients and to explain the integration of Chinese medicine with western medicine. She also sees men and women for other complaints such as allergies, back and neck pain, digestive issues, stress and low immunity. Anne lives in San Francisco with her husband, Ben, and very busy toddler, Luca. Anne recently joined the Mama Lounge team to be closer to her family in the city. Previously she was in private practice at Balance Restored in Marin for nearly ten years.

Wishing everyone a fun (and maybe a little spooky 👻) day of treats and fun!

And speaking of sweet things… my assistant Luisa, has a little pumpkin on the way! I’m so excited for her and all that’s ahead, though I will miss her dearly when she begins her new adventure early in the new year. Luisa has been such a joy to work with, and I’m so grateful for everything she’s done to make Arrive run so smoothly.

With that said, I will be filling her position soon so if you or someone you know might be interested please DM me.

Congrats Luisa and Happy Halloween! 🎃

This Chinese herbal formula speaks brilliantly to the fact that seemingly unrelated symptoms can be tied to the same source.

If you are in the perimenopause/menopause phase, you might be feeling symptoms that are all over the map.

This formula gets to the heart of what we call “liver and kidney yin deficiency” the same source for so many symptoms, from hot flashes and acid reflux to anxiety and irritability.

In the framework of Chinese Medicine people are whole, and symptoms don’t just randomly appear, even if they feel that way!

Do you have questions about how Chinese Medicine can help you with hormone changes in your 40s and 50s? Schedule a 15 minute consultation using the link in bio.

Hi! I’m Anne, the founder of Arrive Reproductive Medicine, a unique acupuncture practice in Santa Cruz. My focus is in reproductive health - supporting folks with preconception care, fertility challenges, menstrual cycle-related issues and the peri/menopausal chapter. I have a sub-specialty in dovetailing with fertility treatments like IVF and IUI.

🌿Are you trying to conceive and it’s taking longer than you expected?

🌿Looking for support with your upcoming IUI or IVF cycle?

🌿Do you have painful or irregular cycles, or extreme PMS?

🌿Is perimenopause or menopause bringing you new challenges?

🌿Do you want to feel supported and empowered along your journey?

There’s so much that happens in our sessions that go beyond the acupuncture treatments and herbal formulas. I believe my patients want to know why their periods are out of whack, why they aren’t getting pregnant or why their fertility doctor is changing their recommendations. I want to see my patients feel in charge of their journey and know that they have a trusted advisor so that they don’t feel alone, and do not have to lose sleep to Google search rabbit holes, trying to piece so much information together.

If this is you, I’m here to help.🙋‍♀️ I’ve dedicated my practice to you. ❤️

Today, my practice is an integrative practice - I blend acupuncture, herbs, lab testing, targeted supplements and coaching. The six lab testing pillars in my practice are:

✔️Cycle tracking with a variety of tools from basal body temperature, simple ovulation predictor kits to advanced digital tests like Mira.

✔️Comprehensive blood testing to understand your thyroid function, key nutrients, blood sugar, and s*x hormones.

✔️ DUTCH test is an at-home urine test that gives insights into PMS and other hormonal symptoms.

✔️GI-MAP stool test provides a wealth of information about your microbiome, an area that impacts reproductive wellness.

✔️Vaginal microbiome at-home testing not only looks at unwanted microbes but also how your good bacteria are doing.

✔️Semen analysis testing - when it comes to fertility, too often treatment is focused on the female side of the equation alone. Evaluating s***m early in the fertility workup is crucial.

“Treat the person, not the test.” I always approach each patient as a whole person. My foundation in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) gives me the ability to step back and make sense of the bigger picture and to understand what themes need the most attention. Testing is one part of the picture, it’s not the whole picture.

Working together begins with a 90-minute new patient evaluation and treatment. This includes a review of your current lab work and intake before you arrive.

I work with most of new patients for a minimum of three months. Whether you want to optimize egg quality, balance irregular cycles, treat hot flashes or prepare for an IUI or IVF cycle, three months gives me time to understand your unique picture, track hormones and to see results from your treatment plan.

“How often do I need acupuncture?” I get this question a lot and it’s a good one. While I tailor each initial 3-month treatment plan according to the unique person in front of me, the treatment plans I create the most are:

🌿Preconception support, beginning of the conception journey with no cycle or hormone-related issues: new patient visit + 5 weekly acupuncture visits + 4 acupuncture visits every other week (10 visits)

🌿Trying to conceive more than six months OR cycle-related issues like irregular cycle, painful periods, severe PMS: new patient visit + 11 weekly acupuncture visits (12 visits)

🌿IVF/IUI support: new patient visit + combination of weekly and twice weekly acupuncture visits depending on medication timing (12-14 visits)

🌿Perimenopause/menopause support: new patient visit + 3 weekly acupuncture visits + 4 acupuncture visits every other week (8 visits)

At the new patient visit we will discuss whether testing is an important part of your treatment plan, or if we can rely on acupuncture and herbal medicine alone.

When was the last time you spent 90 minutes with your provider discussing your hormones? How would it feel to have time to share your history and experience?

Schedule a free 15-minute consultation and I am happy to answer your questions (link in bio) and share more about what working together looks like.

My webinar series is back! Join me for a fun and fact-filled fertility webinar coming up on 2/26. I’m going to share with you my go-to fertility lab tests, many of which are overlooked in the doctor’s office. We’ll take a look at the research around acupuncture for fertility and dive into the nuances behind using acupuncture and testing to give you the best chance of conceiving and staying pregnant. This webinar is focusing on egg quality, implantation and pregnancy but I’ll touch on s***m too as it takes two gametes to tango! All genders are welcome, partners too.
