L.A. CADA at the Whittier Host Lions Club, a longstanding community organization that has served the greater Whittier area since 1922. The Lions Club continues to make a lasting impact through community service, local fundraising efforts, and initiatives like collecting and distributing used eyeglasses for those in need.

Our team was grateful for the opportunity to connect, share resources, and build relationships with leaders who are committed to strengthening our community.

If your organization is interested in partnering, hosting a resource table, or collaborating on future outreach efforts, we’d love to connect! 🤝

Participants from our RBH Programs enjoyed a refreshing hike at Turnbull Canyon.

Everyone had a great time connecting with one another, staying active, and experiencing the joy of having fun in sobriety. Moments like these remind us that recovery is not only about healing—it’s also about building community and creating new, healthy memories. 💛

Community Outreach in Action!

Proudly representing L.A. CADA at yesterday’s Don Rising event in the City of Pico Rivera!

This event welcomed incoming freshmen and their families to El Rancho High School and provided an opportunity for students to learn about the clubs, programs, and community resources available to support them throughout the school year.

Our team was excited to connect with students, share information about our Youth Department services, and remind families that L.A. CADA is here as a resource for prevention, support, and wellness.

We love showing up for our community and helping youth start the school year with confidence and support!

L.A. CADA was honored to participate in the 2026 Enhanced Alternative Custody Programs Summit, hosted by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).

We remain committed to reducing barriers to community reintegration and improving social determinants of health—because real change happens when individuals are supported with dignity, respect, and opportunity.

For over a decade, L.A. CADA has supported reentry through the Female Community Reentry Program (FCRP), equipping women with tools and resources for successful reintegration. We’ve also expanded services through the Community Prisoner Mother Program (CPMP), providing family-centered support for women and children—recognizing that lasting change often begins with strengthening families.

Honoring Black History Month at L.A. CADA

This Black History Month, L.A. CADA stands in recognition of Black resilience, leadership, and the powerful impact Black communities continue to have in shaping our world. We also take time to acknowledge an important truth: mental health is deeply connected to history.

For generations, Black individuals and families have carried the weight of historical trauma rooted in slavery, segregation, and systemic racism—trauma that continues to affect wellness today. Research shows that long-term stress and oppression can have lasting impacts on the mind and body, increasing vulnerability to anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health challenges.

This month is a reminder that healing is both personal and collective. It’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to seek support. And it’s okay to prioritize your peace.

Take time for self-care
Lean on trusted community spaces
Use positive coping strategies like journaling, music, movement, prayer, or rest
Step away from overwhelming media and focus on what brings you strength

If you or someone you love is experiencing mental health challenges, L.A. CADA is here to help.
Call us at (562) 906-2676 for support and resources.

Celebrating New Beginnings!!

Please join us in celebrating four incredible Transitional Age Youth (TAY) who successfully completed their program and stepped into a new chapter of their lives. Each graduate transitioned into stable housing, found employment, and met their legal obligations—powerful milestones that reflect commitment, resilience, and growth.

Their dedication to recovery is inspiring. By showing up, staying open, and allowing themselves to be supported, they proved that change is possible and progress is worth celebrating. We are incredibly proud of each of them and honored to be part of their journey.

This is what collaboration and compassion can make possible. đź’™

Through strong partnership and follow-through, an individual who was once living on the streets was connected to care and successfully completed treatment with L.A. CADA. What began as outreach became a pathway to stability, healing, and hope.

Stories like this remind us that when teams come together with a shared purpose, lives truly can change. Grateful to all who played a role in making this outcome possible.

✨Celebrating Milestones in Recovery✨
we are proud to recognize Doris and Selena as they successfully complete the Recovery Bridge Housing program during their stay at Grace’s place.

Doris has shown incredible dedication to her recovery by actively working her program, securing a sponsor, continue her education, and successfully closing her DCFS case. They both have demonstrated strength, growth, and resilience throughout their journeys.

Comment well wishes as we wish them nothing but continued success and joy into this next chapter 🎉

Last year, the Eaton Fires deeply impacted our L.A. CADA community-affecting multiple departments and destroying some of the spaces where healing, growth, and recovery took place.

In the midst of loss, we witnessed something powerful: community. From staff stepping up, to partners offering resources, to supporters checking in, donating, and helping us rebuild-your compassion carried us through one of our most challenging moments.

Today, we pause to remember that time, honor the resilience of our clients and teams, and share updates on the sites affected.

While the road to recovery continues, we remain committed to serving our community and creating safe spaces for care, connection, and hope.
Thank you to everyone who stood with us when it mattered most.

Your support helped us move forward-together
