Although road conditions are currently clear, meteorologists are forecasting icy roads and 3–5 inches of snow tomorrow morning. Out of an abundance of caution, Santa Fe Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Friday, January 9, 2026.

This means that bus schedules will run two hours later than usual. Please ensure your student(s) are kept from being dropped off before the delayed start, as staff will NOT be on campus. Full-day Pre-K programs are delayed by two hours, while morning Pre-K programs are canceled. Afternoon Pre-K programs will continue as scheduled.

If the district determines that school must be closed, families and staff will be notified by 6:00 a.m. Please continue to monitor local media, the district website, district social media channels, and SchoolMessenger notifications for updates.

If road conditions in your area are unsafe, please use your discretion and keep your student(s) home.

The Legislative Education Study Committee (LESC) is meeting in Santa Fe, with both in-person and virtual public comment scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17. We would greatly appreciate having as many educators as possible speak to the urgent need for an 80/20 health care cost split for educators during this time. In addition, NEA New Mexico is hosting a legislative reception on Wednesday, December 17, at 5:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe Hilton, bringing together legislators and NEA NM members. Space is limited, and we are hoping each local might be able to send 20-25 members to attend.
