Cancer Foundation for New Mexico

Cancer Foundation for New Mexico To help the people of Northern New Mexico navigate their cancer journey with hope, dignity, and needed support.

The Cancer Foundation for New Mexico (CFFNM) is a local, independent non-profit organization formed in 2003 whose mission is to help save lives by providing the needed support to enable every northern New Mexican with cancer to access treatment in Santa Fe. We assist by underwriting travel, housing and meal expenses associated with prescribed treatment. Additionally, we address the need for emotional support by providing free weekly cancer support groups for patients, their families and caregivers. We supply trained volunteer support during treatment, and also offer Spanish speaking interpreters during diagnostic procedures.

Being nominated for "Best Nonprofit for Health" is really a reflection of this community – patients, partners, and supporters across Northern New Mexico who believe in access to care.

If our work has made an impact, we’d be honored by your vote.

The first chemotherapy appointment can be one of the hardest steps in a cancer journey.

That’s why moments of comfort matter – a warm blanket, a cup of tea, and a caring volunteer who welcomes you with kindness.

At the Cancer Foundation for New Mexico, no patient faces treatment alone. 💛

When cancer changes everything, the stress isn’t just medical – it’s financial.

Travel. Lodging. Gas. Missed work. Unexpected bills.

Community steps in when it matters most. Your support helps to restore dignity, relieve stress, and remind people they’re not alone. Thank you.

Our Story

The Cancer Foundation for New Mexico (CFFNM) is a local, independent non-profit organization formed in 2003 whose mission is to help save lives by providing the needed support to enable every northern New Mexican with cancer to access treatment in Santa Fe. We provide a full range of support services, including mileage reimbursement, hotel lodging, and grocery gift cards to cancer patients receiving treatment in Santa Fe. To date, no qualified patient has ever been turned away. We provide other critical services to all cancer patients, regardless of financial need, including weekly professionally-led support groups for cancer patients, caregivers, and families; trained volunteers who provide support during treatment; Spanish-speaking volunteers to interpret; and information on available community resources.
