Rebecca Palak Midwifery/Partera Titulada

Rebecca Palak Midwifery/Partera Titulada I am a mother and New Mexico Licensed Midwife, providing individualized pregnancy care. I offer home birth services in Santa Fe and the surrounding areas.

I am a mother and New Mexico Licensed Midwife and Certified Professional Midwife. I also offer a hybrid model, providing prenatal and/or postpartum care to you, and acting as a doula supporting you through your planned hospital birth. Prior to this, I was clinical director, staff midwife, and teacher at Santa Fe Birth Center and Maternidad La Luz, a school and birthing center in El Paso, Texas where I also began my studies. I am certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and CPR. I also offer doula services and placenta encapsulation. I am honored to walk alongside each pregnant person, to provide counseling and support, and to share various skills I've discovered along the way. I'm constantly learning and growing, and am humbled by each opportunity that comes. Postpartum, I offer placenta encapsulation, with anecdotal benefits such as helping to avoid postpartum depression and encouraging milk letdown. Please contact me for further information. I believe birth is a sacred miracle, something to be revered and respected. I value allowing the process to unfold naturally, with very minimal interventions if possible. I have also learned appropriate skill sets to address complications if necessary. It is an honor to do this work. I'd love to hear from you if you have any questions! Thank you,
Rebecca

• Mark your calendars for our upcoming Village Prenatal on
Saturday, April 20, from 10am-12pm in Santa Fe 🐣🌷🐣

An opportunity for pregnant women to be witnessed, celebrated, and gathered in community. We will sit in ceremony and hold circle for it all: the joy, the grief, the celebration, and the unknown, and hold as a community their birthing visions. We focus on those carrying life at the center, with all life cycles are welcome: maidens, mothers, elders, those without children, and those wishing to conceive. This is a welcome space for women who aren’t pregnant to circle and support those who are, as well as women calling in their children, and newly postpartum. Nurslings/babes in arms welcome, older children welcome at parents discretion.

DM or email us to RSVP. The exchange for this circle is $20.

FYI • Village Prenatal: Sunday, January 7, 10-12, Santa Fe. Slowly crawling out of the Winter and Holiday hibernation, we come together to witness, celebrate, and honor our pregnant mamas in community. Our Village Prenatals are an opportunity to source your own wisdom, share and be seen in this sacred threshold, and lean into ceremony to guide you in this rite of passage. You are also welcome and invited to bring a friend or sister who might be supportive in witnessing you. As we center the women carrying life, it is important too for those who accompany her, in various forms, to hold witness as well. This is also a welcome space for women calling in their children, and newly postpartum.
We are each carrying a heavy load - personally, collectively, and globally - and the beauty of circling together is the space and ability to both hold & release. The exchange for this circle is $20. Please join us if you are called 🤍

• Doing inversions every day can help you lengthen and soften your uterine ligaments, as well as help resolve any twist in the lower uterine segment.

The weight of baby and uterus streeeeetches out those ligaments to reduce torque and helps baby get into a great position for birth.

• Did you use a sitz bath?

A sitz bath is a portable bowl that rests on the toilet seat. You fill it with water and soak your perineum. It offers relief from pain, soreness and itchiness by creating a warm, shallow bath for the perineum to sit in.

Using a sitz bath postpartum can offer many soothing benefits to speed up the recovery process. It’s particularly helpful if you’ve had an episiotomy, had a tear during labor or are experiencing hemorrhoids, a**l or ge***al discomfort.

Sitting in a sitz bath supports healing by increasing blood flow to the perineal area.

This can be done 24 hours post birth. Make the water around body temperature but this is largely personal preference. Add in epsom salts, witch hazel or lavendar and sit down for 15-30 mins twice a day!

Make sure clean the sitz bath after every use!

Give it a try!

Great community resource • There’s still time to join Crystal for our New Moon Circle this coming Monday! 🌙

Wherever you are in your journey right now: maiden, mother, peri/menopausal, crone or wise elder, the moon holds deep teachings for us all. At this time of the new moon we pause to reflect, to dive deep, and to intentionally plant seeds of what it is we wish to grow and nourish in our lives. In this circle we will be in ceremony, in light hearted speaking/deep listening to each other and the energy of the group, and we will each create a small intention bundle to take with us to work with as the moon cycles back to full.
Nurslings/babes in arms welcome, older children welcome at parents discretion.

• .anya We know your first postpartum p**p can be scary. Here’s what we recommend:
1. Don’t be afraid to use a stool softener in your first week postpartum
2. Incorporate foods that help alleviate postpartum constipation as your digestive system will remain compromised and needs extra support throughout the first few months after birth.

Here’s our R.D.-approved list of foods that help fight postpartum constipation.
