If you saw my last post and thought: "what am I supposed to make with daikon radish, spinach, peaches, almonds and cooked honey...???" Check out this salad!!
Sautéed some almonds and walnuts and then caramelized some honey in the pan with some pungent New Mexico red chile...yum....and chopped all the veggies I mentioned with some lettuce and carrots from the farmers market...awesome.
Enjoy, and if you have any other thoughts on creative recipes I'm all ears!!
Remember "let food be they medicine!" Hippocrates
(Not Chinese - but he is very old and I agree with him)

I've been seeing lots of people lately with lung issues, that seem to be related to our climate. As we get closer to Fall - the season of Metal element, I thought I'd share a few tidbits on the lungs, the yin organ of the "Metal element".
There is an old saying in Chinese Medical theory that "the Lung likes cool and moist." Here in NM it is so consistently dry and hot, especially lately, that the lungs can suffer greatly!
Foods that help regulate the Lungs and moisten dryness include: spinach, pear, apple, watermelon, peach, barley, millet, almond, pine nut, seaweeds, chlorella, spirulina, cooked honey, eggs, and watercress.
Once the Lungs are doing well help them to regulate with pungent foods like: peppercorn (especially white!), radish, garlic, onion, ginger, turnips and cabbage.
Enjoy the season, and support your lungs folks! Be well!!
