WELCOMING AUGUST RAIN BERRY TO HELLO WELLNESS! For her first team meeting, it’s subtle but we actually are twinning, OFC. (Cheetah skirt + cheetah sweater!) August and I first worked together at The Sky Center, where all great therapists get their start. 😉 I’ve always admired August’s incredible attunement with her clients, the way she locks in to do her magic, and the deep kindness and grace she offers as a deeply feeling, grounded therapist (and human). She joins the team as an Associate Clinician and begins a journey with us to help with all our systems and programs. I’ve been quietly/not quietly hoping August would join us as I witnessed her deepening her practice with agency work over the last few years. I am so grateful she is finally ready to be part of the Hello Wellness team!

Slide 2, we took a sort of awkward family team monthly photo-absent is Milton Sanchez (we missed you !)

Here’s August’s official bio:
Born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, I bring a deep appreciation for culture,
community, and lived experience into my work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I am a bubbly, passionate, and loving therapist who believes that healing happens best in spaces rooted in authenticity, compassion, and connection.

I earned my Master’s degree through the Advanced Placement program for Clinical Social Work at New Mexico Highlands University and completed my clinical internship at the Sky Center, where I further developed a trauma-informed and client-centered approach. My professional background includes working in community mental health, which has provided
me with extensive experience supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and life
experiences.

I value meeting clients where they are, honoring their stories, and walking alongside them as they build insight, resilience, and meaningful change. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and empowering space where clients feel seen, heard, and deeply respected.

I shared part of this story with Robert and the friends who joined us yesterday, but what I didn’t share was that the pop up was held on the eve of the 20th anniversary of my dad’s death. I hold an annual love event at YogaSource to help lift me up during this month that can usually be challenging, not only for me but also for many folks who suffer from SAD or just in general feel the doldrums of winter… and possibly aversion to all the hallmark messages about Valentine’s Day and being partnered. I like to take this month back with a message of collective and self-love, because I can’t really see any downside to amplifying these kinds of love, especially now.

Coincidence? I think not. Xo

Take a leap with me: How do your loved ones show up from the other side?

Robert Washington-Vaughns spreads love through defying stereotypes, delivering flowers to folks as an act of compassion intended to inspire softness in the nervous system, social connection, and generosity. From a neuroscience perspective, we know that cultivating all of the above is connected to benefits in wellbeing that include reduction in stress, anxiety, and depression plus an enhancement of the immune system response! It’s not just about the flowers, and yet it’s all about the flowers.

Max Doerwald and Robert got the chance to sit down for an interview last week and we will share it when it launches so you can learn more about Robert’s story, his growing mission, and what matters about spreading joy, beauty and delight as an act of resistance. 💐

Thank you Robert 💕
