Santa Maria Wisdom Center

Santa Maria Wisdom Center Our goal is to help ensure that you and your loved ones continue to have a content and more fulfilling life through every stage of life's journey.

We are a team of experienced and dedicated healthcare professionals, committed to helping your or your loved one stay healthy so they can continue to live happily at home and not need placement in a nursing home or hospital. Our integrated team includes an RN, LVN, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist and an Activities specialist. During the COVID-19 crisis, we have been providing freshly prepared meals delivered to our members' door, and daily/weekly contact with our nursing or social work staff, activities packet, and a virtual program designed for all cognitive abilities. Check out our sample calendar for more information. We are continuing these services at this time, for those who cannot come to the center. Services are free to eligible CenCal members and Veterans. We also offer a private pay option for those who would like our full-range of services, and those who would just like meals delivered.

The Wisdom Center’s CalAIM Team was proud to support the Point-in-Time (PIT) Count, a critical community effort that helps inform funding, services, and solutions for people experiencing homelessness.

Our team contributed in multiple ways, from staffing a Logistics Center to supporting field outreach in Atascadero & Morro Bay working alongside partners to ensure the count was carried out with care, coordination, and respect.

The PIT Count plays an important role in helping communities better understand need and direct resources where they are most needed. At the heart of this work is a shared commitment to ensuring people experiencing homelessness are seen, counted, and treated with dignity.

Every role matters. Every person counts.

Yesterday we joined community partners from across the Central Coast for the Human Trafficking Central Coast (HTCC) Awareness Forum, hosted by the Rotary Club of South Santa Maria.

This forum brought together survivors, advocates, healthcare providers, law enforcement, and service organizations to share knowledge, lived experience, and resources focused on prevention, support, and healing. From funding and local initiatives to survivor-centered care and support services, the conversations throughout the day were powerful, honest, and deeply needed.

Human trafficking is happening in our communities, and awareness is one of the most important tools we have. Events like this remind us that collaboration, education, and trauma-informed support are essential in creating real change.

We’re grateful to the organizers, speakers, and community partners who continue to show up, speak up, and work together to support survivors and strengthen our region.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his enduring call for justice, dignity, and care for one another.

His legacy continues to guide the way we show up in our communities: with intention, compassion, and a deep commitment to service.

Yesterday, our team had the privilege of joining community partners and neighbors at the MLK Celebration at Allan Hancock College. Coming together in reflection and unity, we were reminded of this year’s theme, The Fierce Urgency of Now, and the responsibility we all share to turn values into action.

We are grateful to be part of a community that honors the past while continuing to build a more just and connected future, together.

💚✊🏽

Today, we were honored to welcome Assemblymember Gregg Hart to The Wisdom Center and spend meaningful time connecting with our members and team.

Rather than just a visit, it felt like a genuine opportunity to slow down, listen, and share conversations with the people who truly make this space what it is. From the very start, it was meaningful to see him engage with our members and take the time to be fully present.

From there, we shared pieces of how our team supports members each day. We walked through how our transportation services help ensure members can safely get to and from the center. He met with our Social Workers, who help connect members to meaningful resources, and our Lead Care Managers, who provide an added layer of care coordination tailored to each member’s needs.

He also spent time with our Registered Nurses, who shared how they support and monitor members’ health, toured our OT/PT room where members work on strength and mobility, and visited our in-house kitchen where fresh meals are prepared daily with care.

We also highlighted how our daily activities promote social connection, cognitive engagement, movement, and overall well-being, helping create a space where members feel seen, supported, and truly connected.

It was wonderful to see Assemblymember Hart take the time to speak with every single person. Thank you for showing up with care and for all you do for our community.

Veterans Resource Fair and Pancake Breakfast in Pismo Beach. 💙🥞

We had the opportunity to connect directly with veterans and share information about our Adult Day Health Care program, including the many ways it can support independence, health, and overall quality of life. It was meaningful to have real conversations, answer questions, and make sure veterans know there are resources in the community designed to support them and their families.

Thank you to the organizers and partners who created such a welcoming space, and most importantly, thank you to the veterans who took the time to stop by and connect with us. We are grateful for your service and honored to share how our Adult Day Health Center can be an added layer of support.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Our Wisdom Center group had such a lovely time at the Festival of Trees. It was a joy seeing everyone come together, enjoying the displays, and picking their favorite trees. Grateful for moments like these and for the community that makes them possible. 🎄✨

A tour group from the Wisdom Center enjoying the annual Festival of Trees today. They had a wonderful time deciding which trees they wanted to win.
