Tell your friends!! Perfect chance to meet other therapists so you can answer your friend’s questions— “do you know a good therapist for someone who loves spaghetti, only wants to be seen at 6am, needs a specialist in arachnophobia and can only afford to pay $5?”…haha j/k 😂

Seriously though, we live in a rural area, resources are sparse, let’s meet each other!!

Realization is more than insight or an eye opening moment. Realization is emotional and embodied. Done hastily, it can trigger dissociation or other ways of leaving the window of tolerance.

When considering working on your trauma, ask yourself “why is this trauma still locked up in me?”, then consider, is it possible is safer locked up than exposed to a person or situation that isn’t highly trained to help you with it?

All of us EMDR certified have done hundreds of hours of training and supervised practice AFTER 6 years of college (minimum) and 3-5 years supervised experience. Most of us then go on to learn advanced treatments for dissociation, insecure attachment, parts work, brain mapping, biofeedback etc.

Is it possible parts of you and your trauma are waiting until they feel safe to be worked on with someone who knows their sh:t and who skilled enough to refer out to someone with more skill if needed?

Realization creates transformation in your subconscious. Realization orients the cells in your body to 2024. Realization stops trauma from spreading to the next generation. 💗

If you’ve ever read a book or learned about sexual abuse victims and felt like you had a lot in common with them, minus any memory of actually being sexually abused, is this a possibility for you?

Also called Covert Abuse, it is just that, covert, hidden, hard to detect, easily flies under the radar. Often gets mislabeled as the kid is so “kind” or “mature” or “wise”, I could go on. Then the child’s natural gifts get exploited to meet the needs of the adults around them.
