Good Samaritan Shelter is excited to launch its very first Good Samwich food truck with a ribbon-cutting celebration on Tuesday, March 10, from 12–2 p.m. at the beautiful Old Mission Santa Barbara.

This new venture—part of our Food for Good initiative—creates paid, hands-on job opportunities for people working toward long-term employment in the food service industry, all while supporting vital homeless services in our community.

This first truck was made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara and is the first of two planned trucks that will expand job training and sustainable revenue.

Our work is about people—and this week, one of our clients was featured in a beautiful story on KEYT. Stories like this remind us what a difference compassionate care can make.

As Thanksgiving approaches, we’re preparing meals for clients across all our programs, from Recuperative Care to emergency shelter and supportive housing. Our annual Turkey Drive (Nov 20) helps make this possible.
