I’ve been to the Nova Exhibition Los Angeles multiple times and will be there again on the 13th supporting Gina Ross. I’ve borne witness to survivors of this terror sharing their stories; of a mother and father sharing the stories of their beloved children who were murdered.
The Nova Tribe is dear to me and my intention is to support them through this fundraiser but also somatically.

On this first anniversary of 10/7, I leave this here. Any donation is appreciated.

Maggie Kline is thrilled to announce the Zoom launch (with the loving tech support of her dear SE friend Nichi Aviña 2022 CA Teacher of the Year) of her body of work developed over 40 years and taught overseas for 18 years. This course is my synthesis of Somatic Experiencing trauma healing with secure attachment principles using art, movement, play and breath work for kids and teens. Had fun playing with with to create some poses: they’re in eagle pose, in a chair, or in Meddy’s case, on a block/chair. Yoga has to fit the body you’re in-not the body you think you need to be in. The one you’re in is the one you’re in: it’s enough, it’s perfectly imperfect, it’s lovable, it’s alive, it’s breathing, it’s resilient.

NEW CLASS ALERT! ✨ Introducing... SOMATIC MVMT, a new trauma-informed and healing-centered somatic movement class with Sarit on Tuesday nights in ODD Echo Park! 🙏⁠

Somatic means “of or relating to the body as distinct from the mind” and comes from the Greek root “soma”(body). Yoga provides us with rich opportunities to come into our bodies in new and curious ways. This class is a chance to work on sharpening your relationship with the felt sense.⁠

SOMATIC MVMT is a healing-centered chill class, seasoned with slow movements, gentle flow, long holds, grounding practices, and meditation. In this class, you'll have opportunities to become aware of pleasant and neutral sensations while slowly incorporating challenging sensations to build resilience and embodiment.⁠

In SOMATIC MVMT, we will invite curiosity through movement and attention to what you are experiencing in your body, rather than focusing on what the practice looks like externally or what the result might be. This class is for all bodies and abilities and anyone wishing to pause, breathe, move with intention, learn to stay present during challenging sensations, learn to shift your attention toward something different and cultivate a practice of self-care, kind awareness, and wise presence on the mat.⁠

SOMATIC MVMT is a healing centered chill class, seasoned with slow movements, gentle flow, long holds, grounding practices, meditation, and opportunities to become aware of pleasant and neutral sensations while titrating challenging sensations to build resilience and embodiment. Somatic means “of or relating to the body as distinct from the mind” and comes from the Greek root “soma”(body). Yoga provides us with rich opportunities to come into our bodies in new and curious way. This class is chance to work with sharpening your relationship with the felt sense. Lying with something under the knees, covering the eyes and dimming our senses allows for dropping in, feeling the support of the bed:floor, etc, inviting this question:

Am I on the bed or is the bed supporting me?

Can you allow the bed to support you? To sink in, even for a moment? This isn’t easy. Especially with a racing minds but even thirty seconds or 1 cycle of breath is a Pocket of Peace.
