Chick Corea knew what it meant to be embodied. I saw him in the late 70s perform at Avery Fisher Hall. I still have a vivid memory of it. It was so powerful because he was so embodied. He played the piano from his toes to his head to his fingertips - his whole body played.

When jazz and rock fused in the 1970s, he was at the forefront of the movement. But he never abandoned his love of the acoustic piano.
