Please join us for a very special ECMS Zoom gathering this Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 6:30 - 8:00 PM CST.

We are honored to welcome back our power couple, Dr Norm and Ms Mary Jo Capra, who will guide us in an evening of deep reflection and mindful presence through a Buddhist Meditation on Death.

Both Norm and Mary Jo have spoken previously and are treasured members of our community. Mary Jo is a gifted yoga teacher, and Norm is Professor Emeritus at the University of Alabama. Together, they are devoted meditators and enthusiastic bird lovers whose presence always brings wisdom and warmth.

The Buddhist Death Meditation is not morbid but a profound practice that reminds us of the preciousness of the present moment and life itself.

Meditators at all level are welcome to this free and non-sectarian event.

Grateful for our 7th incredible Day of Mindfulness held on the serene grounds of the Quan Am NamHai Monastery in Panama City. The Universe was truly in sync, blessing us with perfect sunny and breezy weather.

Gently guided by Master Tran, our largest circle yet- 26 beautiful souls- came together in shared intention and presence. At noon, we enjoyed a delicious vegetarian Pho, lovingly prepared and deeply nourishing.

All around us, the grounds were coming alive with the energy of spring—a reflection of the awakening within each of us.

Come Ring the Bell of Peace at the Quan Am Nam Hai Monastery

Join us for a Day of Mindfulness on Saturday, March 28th at the Quan Am Nam Hai monastery in Panama City. The day will be guided by the gentle and wise teacher, Master Tran. The full day of Mindfulness begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 4:30 PM.

Set on more than 40 acres of pine forest, the monastery is especially beautiful in the springtime, as nature reawakens. A perfect setting for a day of mindfulness, renewal and transformation.

A special part of the day includes an opportunity to ring the great bell imported from Vietnam—an extraordinary bell weighing nearly a ton. Each person will be invited to mindfully ring the bell, allowing its deep, resonant sound to call us back to our breath, our inner peace, and the beauty of the present moment.

The day begins with Qi-Gong, awakening of the body and mind, followed by sitting and mindful walking on the peaceful grounds. At noon, we share a vegan lunch lovingly prepared by the sangha. The afternoon includes a total body relaxation practice, Dharma Talk and concludes with a heartfelt group sharing.

Come walk gently, breathe deeply, and awaken with the living beauty of spring—both in nature and within your own heart.
