As an integral part of the pharmacy, the Staff Pharmacist practices pharmacy consistent with company expectations and applicable state and federal laws and regulations in a fast-paced environment focused on dispensing accuracy, patient care, and pharmacy operation. The Staff Pharmacist performs duties in both the adjudication and production work environments while providing direct supervision of Pharmacy Services Representatives, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Support Specialists performing pharmacy-related duties. In adjudication, the Staff Pharmacist is charged with the interpretation of prescription orders, peer-to-peer, patient, and other communications to clarify and verify the information and provide counseling. In production, the Staff Pharmacist reviews the fulfillment of prescription orders, completes prescription transfers, seeks business solutions, and assists with drug procurement through various wholesalers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Check prescription orders from the nursing homes, review narcotic reconciliations, dispense, and verify medication in compliance with state federal regulations.
Consult with physicians and/or nursing staff via telephone regarding orders, interactions, and additionally patient reactions to medications.
Perform medication therapy management with patients and offer consultation to improve therapeutic outcomes.
Assist the management team in the pharmacy operations in achieving their planned business objectives and implementing quality initiatives to increase profitability.
Identify critical business opportunities and contribute to the development of meaningful solutions to drive growth and improve performance in the pharmacy.
Support the efficient workflow and assist the pharmacy in charge and the store manager oversee all day-to-day pharmacy operations and manage all staff in the pharmacy.
Maintain a professional attitude and image; lead by professional example.
Confront complex pharmacy operational issues with situation-specific business solutions in alignment with site management goals and objectives.
Recruit, train, and supervise pharmacy teams.
Capable of effectively understanding customers and provide superior customer service.
Answer questions from customer service representative technicians.
Manage drug inventory and assist with drug file maintenance.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Degree in Pharmacy (B.S. or Pharm D) from an accredited school.
Pharmacy practice experience.
Required Credentials / Licensing / Certification:
Must possess a clear, active state of California Board of Pharmacy license.
Immunization certifications as required.
Competencies:
Possess excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the audience including the ability to translate clinical information into a manner appropriate for clinical and non-clinical audiences.
Detail-oriented accurately follows established procedures for completing work and ensures high-quality results to include initiating action to correct quality problems.
Effectively manage one’s time, stay focused, ensure performance objectives and deadlines are met

Proficient in Microsoft Office Professional, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
