A powerful day at the California State Capitol 💙

Grateful to stand alongside advocates from across the country representing organizations like Parkinson’s Vitality Institute, Parkinson's Association of Northern California, Parkinson’s Support Group of Sonoma County, and Parkinson's Foundation—all brought together by The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

Together, we shared stories, built connections, and advocated for meaningful change for those living with Parkinson’s.

Proud to represent our community and be part of something bigger 💙

Honored to be in the room. 💙

Today I had the opportunity to present at the Sonoma County Aging & Disability Commission during Parkinson’s Awareness Month.

We spoke about Parkinson’s, the growing need for specialized fitness, and the critical role of ongoing support for both individuals and their care partners.

At Parkinson’s Vitality Institute (PVI), our mission is to bridge the gap between clinical care and long-term wellness—helping people not just manage Parkinson’s, but live stronger, more capable lives.

Grateful to the Commission for the time, the conversation, and the commitment to improving outcomes for our community.
This is how real change happens.

Proud and honored to represent our Parkinson’s community at the State Capitol on national PD Awareness Day 💙

Parkinson’s Vitality Institute joined The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and Parkinson's Association of Northern California as well as the Parkinson's Foundation in advocating for important Parkinson’s legislation.

We met with legislative offices, including Chris Rogers, sharing the real stories behind why this work matters.
Grateful to be part of something bigger and to help give our community a voice 💙

Parkinson’s advocates from across California are invited to join Sacramento Parkinson’s Advocacy Day on April 13, 2026, a powerful opportunity to meet directly with state lawmakers and urge support for policies that impact the Parkinson’s community.

Advocates will call for support of California Senate Bill 895 (SB 895), which would strengthen California’s long-standing commitment to medical research funding and educate lawmakers about the dangers of paraquat plus additional legislative options under consideration that could directly benefit people living with PD and their care partners.

Parkinson’s Advocacy Day is a partnership between The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Parkinson’s Foundation, American Parkinson Disease Association, and Parkinson’s Association of Northern California.

Participants will hear from expert speakers and take part in scheduled meetings with legislators and their staff. No prior advocacy experience is required—just a willingness to share your story and speak up for the Parkinson’s community. Training for participants will be available via zoom the week prior to April 13th, as well as during the event program.
