Gallaher and is owned and operated by the Gallaher family. Bill and his wife Cindy have a long history in Real Estate Development and have been building since the 1970’s. The family's development arm, Gallaher Companies, has built more than 1000 custom homes, 500 multifamily units and several local commercial projects.

Our resident Evita, who has been living at Varenna for 13 years, has turned 104 this past week! As she was once a Dance Instructor/Dancer, she had other residents join her in a fun birthday dancing train.

Cheers to 17 years of community, friendships, and building lasting memories! This month marked Varenna's 17th Anniversary, we celebrated with a raw bar, music, and dancing. We recognized milestones of the residents who have lived here and staff that have worked at Varenna for 17, 10, and 5 years.

Almost a year to date in April, our wonderful Varenna residents & Programs Team had the opportunity to return to, or visit for the first time, the natural beauty of Pepperwood, a 3,200-acre biological reserve and research station.

Known as a "living laboratory," the preserve brings scientists from around the world & provides ecology, conservation education & volunteer programs to foster support among longtime Sonoma County residents & help the next generation of researchers thrive.

Our morning at Varenna began overcast & foggy, but as we arrived up the hill to enter the Preserve, the sun began to magnify the landscape in breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views, spanning from Marin, Sonoma, & Napa all the way to up to Mendocino & Lake Counties.

From learning of the sheer microclimate biodiversity of Sonoma County - over 900 native species call Pepperwood home - to fire watch cameras & burn prevention to preserve & restore our land, Pepperwood truly is a natural gem of our home.

We are excited to welcome Pepperwood to Varenna this coming week for a very special presentation.
