Hearing Aid Project - Sarasota

Hearing Aid Project - Sarasota The mission of HAP is to give low-income individuals across the US access to hearing aids at no cost

HEALTHY HEARING SHOULD BE ENJOYED BY ALL
For those who require assistive devices, economics shouldn’t be a barrier to hearing health. Driven by the missions of the organizations Sertoma and Hearing Charities of America, and through the generosity of so many others, hearing aids are now available to those who might otherwise go without. This is a National project, but we are working hard to get help to our local Sarasota community!

Thinking about tomorrows Giving Tuesday...I want to tell you about a project I support that directly changes the lives of people who need hearing aids they would never be able to afford. The Hearing Aid Project collects hearing aids from people across the country, then cleans and refurbishes the best of them and makes them available to hearing health professionals to fit their low-income patients at no cost to the patient or the hearing health professionals that fit our hearing aids.
The Hearing Aid Project has a stipend that helps cover the costs of the supplies and equipment needed to fit a Hearing Aids Project client with hearing aids.
On this Giving Tuesday, I want to raise at least $300 to help the Hearing Aid Project cover the cost of a stipend for one client.
How can you help?

Have you heard of the Hearing Aid Project?
This nationwide program, created by Sertoma, provides free hearing aids to low-income adults that need hearing aids but yet cannot afford them. The process begins with collecting & refurbishing hearing aids. Financially limited adults in need of a hearing aid submit an application. Upon approval, applicants will be connected to a local hearing aid provider who dispenses the refurbished aids from the inventory FREE of charge to the applicant. It all begins with the applicant sending an email to info@hearingcharities.org. We believe that healthy hearing should be enjoyed by all!

Whether you realize it or not, hearing aids hold a substantial amount of power. These small, yet incredible devices make big things possible for people every day.

Hearing aids can improve a person’s cognitive abilities, communication skills and in essence help people live a safer and healthier life.

Although millions of individuals could benefit from hearing aids, many people are not able to afford them due to the rising costs. Thanks to your donations, the Hearing Aid Project is able to eliminate the financial barriers that hold many people back from the help they need.

Regardless of the hearing aid shape, size, type or age, the parts of a used hearing aid can be used to repair and improve the functionality of others. Every donation can and will make a difference in the life of someone who needs it.

If you are interested in donating hearing aids to assist the Hearing Aid Project, you may contact one of our Sarasota representatives and arrange to drop off your donation.

Please call: Carol at 941-915-4816 to arrange drop off or pick up.

The hearing aids and and supplies will be sent to the National Hearing Aid Project. They will send a tax receipt to you. This information will be kept in their records and to ensure you receive your thank you letter. Please be advised that due to our 501(c)(3) tax exemption status, we cannot determine the value of the aids. Your tax preparer can assist you, or you can find tips under In-Kind Contributions on the IRS website.
