Thanks to the Suncoast View for inviting me on to talk about the 33rd Annual World Mental Health Day!
Why is it important to talk about this still?
Because everyone is fighting a battle we know nothing about.
Because no one heals in isolation.
Because stigma around mental health--whether social (general or public attitudes), internal (personal feelings), or structural (laws, policies, and institutional practices)--are still affecting people from the individual level to the community level and beyond.
We need the courage and humility to keep the conversation going, acknowledge our mistakes, stay curious and compassionate, and try to do a little better for each other every day.
It makes a difference.
