Robert P. Finkelstein, D.O., is a licensed physician with board certification in dermatology as well as family medicine. After graduating from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1990, he spent a year at a rotating internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Upon completing his training in family medicine and dermatology, he worked in private practice in the Philadelphia area as both a clinical dermatologist and associate clinical professor at UMDNJ. In 2002, Dr. Robert Finkelstein relocated to Florida where he spent two years in practice with Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery Group, servicing areas from Tampa to Sarasota. He then started the Center for Skin Wellness, in Sarasota, where he continues today. Dr. Finkelstein resides in Bradenton with his wife, Nancy, and their dog Oliver.
Dr. Finkelstein enjoys teaching as well as practicing general and cosmetic dermatology. He maintains an avid interest in medical technology and medical informatics and incorporates these into his practice, streamlining his office and patient care with the use of cutting edge technologies. In addition, Dr. Finkelstein’s osteopathic background and training provide you with a well-rounded, holistic approach to patient care.
Michelle Selvaggi is a certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, and Florida native. Michelle received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, graduating Magna Cum Laude from South University in 2011 and was inducted into the prestigious Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau. Michelle advanced her education, receiving a Master of Science in nursing with a concentration in Family Health from the University of South Florida in 2015. She proceeded to receive her certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner via the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Prior to becoming an ARNP-C, Michelle began her career as a Registered Nurse at Tampa General Hospital, on the pediatric unit where she had the privilege of caring for an array of pediatric patients. Michelle continued her career at Florida Hospital Tampa where she worked on a Cardiac Interventional Unit, with adult cardiac patients.
After obtaining her Master’s in Nursing and becoming a certified nurse practitioner, Michelle began her nurse practitioner career in internal medicine. Michelle worked with a hospitalist group in Tampa, where she assessed, diagnosed, treated, and provided care for acutely ill patients admitted to the hospital.
Michelle has always been drawn to the field of dermatology and is passionate about all aspects of general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She feels honored to be a part of the team at The Center for Skin Wellness and having the opportunity to collaborate with Dr. Robert Finkelstein in efforts to continue providing exceptional dermatology care to the community.
Michelle believes it is imperative to have a holistic approach to patient care, treating the patient as a whole and not just a diagnosis. She is committed to providing evidenced-based medicine to her patients to achieve the best patient outcomes. She is compassionate to individual patient concerns and believes it is essential to foster good patient rapport through strong communication skills. She encourages patients to actively participate in their care through asking questions, knowing their medical needs, and understanding their treatment plans. She welcomes both pediatric and adult patients.
When Michelle is not caring for patients, you can find her cheering on the USF Bulls with her husband, who is a Physical Therapist in the area. Michelle is passionate about leading a healthy lifestyle and thoroughly enjoys kayaking, running half marathons, and obstacle races. She enjoys traveling, meeting new people, and spending quality time with her family and friends. Bradenton is where she has always felt most at home and she is happy to return, working in her dream job where she can make a positive impact in the community.
