The kids have had their turn hacking this page, so now it’s Doc’s wife’s turn 💚
Our prayers are with this congressman, his family, and anyone dealing with Lyme disease, especially those who may not even realize it yet, as well as the families and caregivers supporting them.
I’m so thankful people are finally speaking up about how common this really is and what it actually takes to recover, because for too long it has been underdiagnosed and overlooked. My husband has been caring for people suffering from this for over 25 years, many of whom were dismissed or told everything looked normal, and that is exactly why he knew right away what was going on when our own kids became symptomatic.
They were dealing with brain fog, migraines, stomach issues, rashes, crushing fatigue, and really painful muscle aches. All I cared about was figuring out what was going on with my babies, and he immediately knew we needed to go beyond conventional testing and took action right away.
In the middle of helping them, I started realizing I was not okay either. I was exhausted, not feeling like myself, having symptoms like Bell’s palsy and even losing the ability to use the right side of my body at times, but I kept brushing it off. He did not. And eventually, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease as well.
Shout out to my husband, John. I honestly do not know how he did it all. He cared for his patients during the day and came home to care for us at night. He made sure we got the right testing and therapies and prayed over us constantly, all while addressing his own Lyme disease.
He was not nearly as symptomatic as we were, and I really believe that is because he has always been very intentional about his health. He has not had sugar since he was young, has not eaten meat since his teens, and is a big believer in juicing, fasting, and doing what he can to support his body. But he still tested positive, and we still had to address the underlying infections.
By the grace of God and the team at Florida Integrative Medical Center, my kids and I are doing so much better and feel like we have our lives back. I will always be grateful to my husband, the nurses, and our entire FLIMC family.

I’m sharing this from the heart, not to promote anything, but because I know how hard it is when you are dealing with all these unexplainable symptoms and just trying to find relief. I’m so thankful he knew what we were dealing with and what needed to happen next so we could actually start getting better.
