Fear in kids doesn’t always look like fear.

Sometimes it sounds like:

“I don’t want to try.”
“I don’t know how.”
“I don’t want to mess it up.”

We've been exploring this through different stories like The Knight and the Three Dragons:

🐉 the Dragon of Fear
🐉 the Dragon of Doubt
🐉 the Dragon of Judgment

Because for a lot of kids, those are the real “dragons” that show up when something feels hard.

And in those moments, it’s usually not about ability.

It’s what’s going through their mind.

The hesitation.
The second-guessing.
The fear of getting it wrong… or being judged.

And when that takes over, kids don’t always need more help.

They need to understand what’s happening inside, so they don’t shut down before they even begin.

That’s where things start to shift.

You can usually tell which “dragon” is showing up just by what a child says.

✨ I’ll be sharing more soon about what’s coming next

Kids don’t struggle because things are hard.

They struggle because of the story they attach to the hard thing.

“I’m bad at this.”
“I always mess up.”
“Everyone else is better.”
“I can’t.”

When a child believes those thoughts are facts, that’s when the real dragon shows up.

Inside Slaying Dragons, kids learn how to question the story in their head… and choose a stronger one.

A few spots are still open.

Some kids don’t struggle because they aren’t capable. They struggle because they don’t yet know what to do when something feels hard.

When mistakes feel like failure…
when frustration takes over…
when fear of getting it wrong stops them from trying again…
that’s where mindset skills matter.

In our Slaying Dragons 6-Week Program, kids learn how to move through challenges instead of shutting down or avoiding them.

Each week includes:
✔ movement and brain-based games that help kids regulate and reset
✔ story-based mindset lessons that make big ideas easy to understand
✔ art and creative projects that help kids process what they’re learning
✔ cooperative games that build confidence through experience

Kids practice learning that:
• mistakes are part of growth
• fear doesn’t mean stop
• setbacks are something you can move through
• confidence grows when you keep trying

This is a fun, active environment designed for kids who learn best by doing, especially homeschool families looking for meaningful enrichment beyond academics.

📅 Beginning Feb 25

Kids don’t need to be protected from failure.

They need support while they learn from it.

When mistakes feel safe, kids keep trying.
When mistakes feel scary, confidence shrinks.

This is the kind of work we’re leaning into next.

What helps your child feel safe to try?

Goal setting for kids isn’t about pressure or perfection.

It’s about helping them see that big goals are made of small steps.

We use hands-on projects to help kids see their thinking:

• What am I working toward?
• What steps could get me there?
• What happens if I need to change direction?

Some creations are detailed.
Some are messy.
Some are “I don’t know yet.”
And all of it matters.

Because learning how to try is more important than getting it right.

Save this if your child struggles with fear of getting it wrong.

Feeling so grateful after our DreamPower trial week 🤍

Thank you to all the families who came out, participated, and trusted this space for their kids. It’s been such a joy welcoming new faces and seeing how much the kids connected with the work, through a mix of creative reflection, meaningful conversations, and movement-based activities that support focus, confidence, and self-awareness.

This work is less about the boards themselves and more about helping kids build confidence, self-belief, and a growth-oriented mindset, along with early skills around reflection and goal-setting they can continue to build on over time ✨
