Hi again everyone! Dr. Stolarski is excited to announce that he and the team have additional appointment slots available now to accommodate new patients. Have friends told you that we have a long waitlist for surgery? Our goal is to reduce wait times for appointments and surgery so new patients can be evaluated and start improving their orthopedic quality of life as soon as possible.

New patients are seen by one of Dr. Stolarski’s 4 physician assistants (James, Jackie, Justin or Brooke) and will have x-rays reviewed, an assessment of their arthritis and help forming a conservative treatment plan that may include physical therapy or medication.

If a patient feels they are ready to start preparing for a total hip or total knee replacement surgery, they will be scheduled with Dr. Stolarski for a pre-surgical visit to discuss options and a customized recovery plan.

To schedule, please either call our main line at 941-365-0655 or send us a DM here. We will forward copies of private messages via Facebook received weekly to the phone room team so they can call you and review insurance and next availability.

If you send us a private message here, please include your full name, best phone number, and whether you are looking to have a hip or knee evaluated. For your privacy, please don’t post any private information in the comments under the post.

We look forward to helping you soon!

Hi everyone! We hope you’re having a great start to the spring time. Are you considering having a total knee replacement? Do you have a friend who has told you about the new “smart knee” Dr. Stolarski is implanting at Sarasota Memorial? Dr. Stolarski would like to invite you to watch this podcast episode where he discusses the new smart knee implant.

SMH was the first hospital in Florida to have a robot assisted total knee replacement with the smart knee. In the video, Dr. Stolarski talks about risks and benefits of the robotic assistant and the interesting features of the smart knee and its associated mobile app.

Nationwide, knee replacement statistics tell us that 1 in 5 people (20% of patients) are unhappy with their total knee replacement. It is Dr. Stolarski’s hope that technological advancements like the smart knee and robotic assistance in surgery will help get as many patients as possible feeling satisfied and happy with their total knee.

Let us know at your next appointment if you have any questions about the technology.

Hi everyone! We hope you’re having a great week.

We are excited to announce that we are starting a new Phase 3 research study for patients with knee pain from osteoarthritis of the knee. This is a clinic based study that involves one injection to the painful knee. The investigational study product is a sterile amniotic tissue product.

This study is open to patients 18 years of age or older with mild to severe arthritis of the knee.

If you’ve recently had a steroid injection or visco/gel injection in your knee, there is a brief waiting period before you can join the study. Please reach out to us for more details.

This is a nationwide study designed specifically for arthritis patients. Some medical history is excluded from this trial including a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, gout, fibromyalgia, or knee surgery within 12 months of joining the study. Additionally, the sponsor is excluding patients on regular blood thinners for issues such as atrial fibrillation.

If you join the study, you do not need to have health insurance as all study procedures are provided at no charge. If you are interested in learning more about the study, please call 941-552-7875 (for the research office at KWOC) or send us an inbox message here. Thanks!

Note: The wording of this post received Institution Review Board (IRB) approval.
