I was talking with a patient today and she told me she’s considering a new job- been doing multiple interviews. So I asked- why do you want to leave the job that you have now?
S T R E S S ! I applauded her for taking action and we talked about work/life balance and priorities. Recognizing it is the first step!
Removing unnecessary stress is one of my own ongoing goals. It took me a long time to even recognize it. Slow down, enjoy what you do, check-in daily on your attitude and always choose gratitude (speaking to myself here 😂)!
Work was a big stressor for me 3+ years ago. Now I continue to coach and I’m working PRN back in oncology and I love it! I’m in control of when and how much I work (35 years later 😜)
Political news! It literally makes my heart rate increase and I feel anxious. My way of removing that stress? For the most part I don’t watch anything political on TV. I found a few unbiased news sources via email and podcasts. This may not be for everyone and some feel I’m being a bit of an ostrich (burying my head in the sand)- but it feels much better to me. I can’t control what happens in the world globally, in this country, in this state or in this town. What I can control is how I react and what I allow in.
